The embarrassment is over.................

Hardly watched them all year but watched tonight. I thought teams were supposed to be better at the end of the season. Not to say it's all or even mostly coaching, far from it. In terms of fundamentals, this collection of "talent" is the worst major conference team I've seen in many years. Horrible shot selection, leaving the floor to pass, insanely idiotic fouls a 5th grader knows better than to make. If this is all he had to work with I'm not sure how you judge him by this season.

Thank god. I hope KA's got something up his sleeve because I'm not sure where the improvement is going to come from next season.

Re: KA lost 23 games. Most in school history.

Kim Anderson seems like a great guy and I think the Tigers need a coach with Missouri ties, that thinks of this job as his dream job. That being said, I hope Kim is renting a home in Columbia.

Re: KA lost 23 games. Most in school history.

Anderson was given absolutely nothing but problems and I think did as good with what he was given as anyone could do. Extremely young team who did get better toward the end of the year. Man, give the guy a few years to try and get some recruits.

I agree with.....

.....Bearcat-time, but to say that next year the honeymoon will be over would be an understatement!

He's got to have some time to build the program. Guard Terrance Phillips from Oak Hill Academy will not hurt. I have no idea if he has a chance on Justin Tatum from Chaminade, or not. At least from an interview I saw earlier between Tatum and Frank Cusamano of KSDK in St. Louis, Mizzou was still in the conversation. But, so was Duke and North Carolina. Gotta get some impact players. Would love to see Tatum in the old gold and black!

Re: KA lost 23 games. Most in school history.

"A few years?"

Be more specific. If you're the AD, how many years does he get?

Re: KA lost 23 games. Most in school history.

1 semester. If they haven't shown significant improvement by Christmas he has to go. 9-23 and frequently blown out at home by crappy teams is not acceptable. Major strides must be made.

Being competitive against good teams would be a major stride.
Losing to umkc, etc. Is not.

Re: I agree with.....

Justin could go, we could use an asst. coach right...it's Jayson we need....and at least one of his current Chaminade teammates Tyler Cook!

Re: I agree with.....

Bill, I'll take it!!! Tyler Cook is the other Chaminade player that Frank Cusumano was visiting with that night and he also mentioned Mizzou. I also like the assistant coach coming with the player.

kU has done that on three occassions, that I know of. They did it many years ago with Darnell Valentine going with his high school coach from Wichita Heights in 1977. Layfayette Norwood was hired by Ted Owens in a package deal with Valentine. They did it again with Larry Brown bringing the duo of Danny Manning and father, Ed, as an assistant. And, they did it yet again, when Bill Self brought Mario Chalmers and his father, Ronnie.

Look for new Missouri Athletic Director to move quickly

Mack Rhoades is the new AD @ Missouri. Mack Rhoades will evaluate the Tiger basketball program very quickly. Kim Anderson will be judged on 1. The talent on hand when be was named coach @ Missouri, 2. Did they under achieve or over achieve, 3. Recruiting for last year and this year, 4. Conference standing, 5. and a few other things. When Mack Rhoades does his evaluation, Look for a change or one more year to take place quickly.

The recruiting issues and the lack of D-1 experience by the Missouri staff will be a concern in the Mack Rhoades decision and could bring Kelvin Samson to Missouri sooner rather then latter. The Mark Rhoades news conference after excepting his new position might be a concern for Kim Anderson.

Re: Look for new Missouri Athletic Director to move quickly

Kim gets another year, Sampson would not be a good fit for MU. Brad Stevens gets one more year with Celtics, he'll either quit or get canned, would be a much better option/solution.

Re: Look for new Missouri Athletic Director to move quickly

Kelvin Sampson? No way! He is where he needs to be. Houston has always had a little renegade in them.

I like the idea of Stevens but no way he ends up in Missouri. Indiana is always on the edge of letting Crean go, and that is where Stevens wants to be. If he becomes available, Crean will be gone.

Hopefully when it's time to make the change at Mizzou, it will also be time for Marshall to decide to leave Wichita.

And managed to do it in the powerhouse that is SEC basketball. That's difficult to do.
