I'd still have the same opinion even if a Big 12 team won the playoff; this is not football!

Maybe Pyle is actually Kirk Herbstreet because just a few weeks ago I heard Herbstreet on ESPN radio comparing the current Big 12 to his memories of watching the WAC with his dad (in which there was NO defense at all).

Nothing but Basketball on grass...

It's pathetic and it's one of the stupid things about modern football. All anyone seems to care about is offense, because it's "exciting". That's why some AD's won't even try to hire coaches at the HS or college level if they don't run the spread. People favor "excitement" over good, quality football. To me, a 9-6 game is more exciting than 70-53.

Makes you wonder when Webb City is going to wake up and play some real football.

It's not even the offense I'm primarily referring to, but the lack of defense; that's rarely a problem for Webb. Webb has not played a Big 12-esque defensive game since the last time they played MICDS; if the Big 12 only had one such defensive performance every five years I wouldn't make such a complaint, but it's nearly every game for that conference that both teams score over 40 points...

I hope multiple Big 12 teams make the playoff so their offenses can be exposed by legit defenses (maybe it's not the Baylor's offense is so good but that every defense they play sucks!)

Don't know about overall numbers and don't care enough to look up but they seem to have done fine against the mighty SEC this year and most leagues I would guess. Now that being said I love a team that runs the ball and plays solid D.

They just scrolled across the bottom of the screen as the Saints won it 52-49 that this was the third most points scored in an NFL game in history; so again, what is an outlier in most other brands of football is an every week occurrence in the Big 12 over the past two or three years...

Agree Def is at a premium. But........... I'd love to line up the top 6 in the big 12 against the other leagues top 6. They would be just fine.
