Girls were out of school for a week so we decided to go to Mexico during the worse power outage on record in Texas....these are not the type of people who should be leading this country. But yet these are the people we elect!!

Don't blame him for getting out of dodge and heading to the Sun and surf....Not like a elected official can call up any gov. service and demand this or that or take control of a Winter Storm the local utilities or emergency services. Bad PR move if the MSM has a agenda to Bloviate , but to act like it's some egregious action by a Politician is a stretch. . .....

Now if the Gov. of Texas, a Mayor/City Manager of a Major City, Chief of Police/Fire Dept., Head of Utility services and emergency service pulled that stunt then heads should roll but a Elected official at the Federal level not so much.

I mean Biden hid out from the Covid for basically the whole election making rare public appearances and that was touted up as necessary and smart...and at his age I don't disagree with that point of view. And I don't disagree that a person with means and the ability who has no involvement in a Winter storm or the administration of state level services shouldn't be able to vacate the area and take his family with him.

His return and such is just PR BS to cover His backside I think that is more untasteful than him actually being a good Husband and Father and leaving with his Family.

What is really Stomach turning is the MSM coverage....but that is par for the course.

Defending Cruz with complaints about the MSM is laughable. Acting like nothing can be done is also wrong. Just look at what Beto and AOC have done. It is more than just bad optics it is a lack of leadership and a lack of imagination to know how to help.

Even if there was little he could actually do to alleviate the bad situation, taking off is in poor taste. Definitely bad optics and a bad move.

I‘m quite sure if there were homes in TX that had power and heat, the Cruz family home would’ve been among them. Shoulda hung around, Senator.

Out of roughly 29 million Texans around 3 million lost power, do to regulated rolling black outs by EROT. Cruz did loose power and heat. He had the means to leave to take his family to a better local. I said it was a bad PR move. But let's not act like he could of actually done anything of substance.

I am not saying family isn't important but your family needs to also understand what is important and what is not when you have a job. Many people in many professions give up a lot more than a week in cancun for thier jobs, ask all those families who have loved ones serving in the military, just like when you sign up for the military you and your family should know exactly what you are signing up for when you run for elected office. You might have to be uncomfortable for a few days, and miss Mexico with your family boo hoo. If he doesn't like it then don't run for office, go find a different job that people won't care if you run to Mexico during a power outage, be an actual lawyer.
