Justin Tatum would be a great hire if his son went elsewhere

We need to get Justin Tatum out of coaching high school basketball, he is just to good for this level. Hiring Justin Tatum 6'7" as a D-1 asst is a no brainier. Coach Tatum has played and coached on a high level since entering high school @ CBC and I have reasons to believe the next level is waiting for him. I believe high level recruits could identify with Coach Justin Tatum as a teacher, coach and having a son like Jayson Tatum could only add to the conversation with recruits.

I find it hard to believe Missouri, SLU and others Universities have not picked up on the idea of how solid of an asst coach he could be. I understand the D-1 experience is not present but a 4th asst coach usually carries a " Clip Board " and moves up after a year or two if the basketball aptitude is present.

Justin Tatum 6'7" could look recruits in the eye while trying to sell a basketball program. I am making this post because we need to get Coach Justin Tatum out of high school basketball coaching, he is simply " To Good " and will be a dominate force @ CBC high school when making trips to the final four in class 5.

This reminds me of one of those telemarketer responses...no matter how pissy you'd get telling those guys no...they always had some scripted response that never really seemed to address the issue...but were generally none-the-less kind of funny to listen to.

Re: Justin Tatum would be a great hire if his son went elsewhere

I guess that means Mizzou should also hire Will Durden away from P.B. His team won the P.B. Showdown while Coach Tatum's team finished 3rd. AND Durden won it with less size and talent than Coach Tatum had.

Not quite, but close. I'd say closer to 6'4" or so...Can he still look recruits in the eye at that size???

Re: Justin Tatum would be a great hire if his son went elsewhere

3Rfan, Durden is good but needs a few more years in high school basketball to be the 4th asst in a D-1 University ( Clip board carrier )

Justin Tatum:

1997--CBC state champions in class 4A as a player

After high school --enrolled @ St. Louis University

2012--Coached Soldan to a class 4 state championship

2014--Coached CBC to a class 5 state championship

Durden, like a lot of quality coaches around the state, just needs to be in a place where its easier to control who the players are.
