Class 1, No. 2 Valle Catholic (14-1 in 2009)
It will be tough for the Warriors to top their 2009 season.
Conference and district champions, they finished with a 14-1 mark, just
four points from a Class 1 Show-Me Bowl title falling to Hamilton 21-17.
With the return of five starters on both offense and defense and the
addition of several players who gained valuable experience during the
playoff run the Warriors return with high expectations this season.
"We must work extremely hard to have a chance to repeat the success of
last year", commented head coach Judd Naeger.
Valle will be led on the field by senior Luke Uding(5-10
185) a talented running back, Mike Loida(5-11 175) WR/DB, Senior Kory
Donze(5-11 165) WR/DB, and Zach Weiler(5-10 165) WR/DB.
On the line junior Ryan Hermann(6-4 230) OL/DL and
senior Wayde Roth(6-0 190) OL/DL return. Senior Alex Stoll(5-11
185) will take over at quarterback and several new comers will be called
up to fill in gaps for the Warriors including:
Tom Hermann OL/DL, 6-3, 255, JR Andrew Baumann OL/DL 6-3, 220, JR Jared
Bruns TE/DE, 6-5, 185, JR Dylan Kist OL/DE, 6-0, 185, SR Andrew Bader,
TE/LB, 6-0, 185, SR Brett Shuh, OL/DL, 6-1, 210, SR Nolan Carrow, WR/LB,
5-10, 165, SR Eric
Meyer,
OL/LB, 5-10, 180, JR Alex Rollhaus, LB/DE, 5-11, 180, JR Alec Greminger,
WR/DB, 5-10, 150, JR
The Warriors will compete in the Jefferson County Conference,
essentially the same league as recent seasons with Herculaneum taking
the place of Maplewood. A solid non-leauge schedule and conference
tilt should prepare Naeger's squad for another successful playoff run.
