Does anyone think it is possible we see Lamar, Mt. Vernon, Webb City & Carthage in the Championship games? Curious to hear what everyone thinks would have to happen for the Tigers to get it done Vs. Staley

Yes, it's possible. All of the aforementioned are still playing.

Go Tigers! Carthage does have some team speed on the back end that I think could hold Staley in check. What do you KC people see from Staley that makes them such a favorite?

Overall team speed, athleticism, football skill, coaching. Just about every category. Surprised greatly that Fort was able to stay within 14 points. Carthage's best win was against Battle. Staley has six wins against teams better...many of them turbo clock wins.

Was Platte able to sustain drives against Staley? It sounds to me like we might get into a shootout. Arkell smith may be just as good if not better than the big kid from Platte County, plus the Tigers can run the ball better than PC. Carthage 55-49.

They can probably run it better than PC, but a doubt they run it much better than Fort O, (not meant to put down Carthage, but Fort runs it very well) and Fort couldn't do much in the run game. Staley's O is very good. QB was very impressive. Their D is amazing against the run, but their biggest weakness is at corner. They aren't bad, just not as good as the rest.

Carthage will have to be able to complete some fades on the sideline to have a chance.

Carthage looked good vs Battle. They had a few early turnovers but other than that they looked good.. Haven't seen Staley play but I'll be cheering for Carthage.

See any post I've written about Staley...basically all year, and put a stupid gif like that on here. Bahahahaha
Easy Joey...youre messing with THE Joe Kane there. He is one crazy guy. One time he got so drunk, he laid down on a busy road with HEAVY traffic! AND he got his teammates to join him!!

I would agree with most of your first sentence, but coaching. Guidie knows whats going on and had built a really successful program over there.

Holy cow! I knew Joe liked the sauce, but thats a bit extreme. Makes sense though, his whole family does.....

I have thought it would be a ton of fun to watch both WC AND Carthage at the state finals in the same year. It would be awesome to have a coalition of fans from both these neighboring towns there supporting each other. Throw in the other somewhat nearby schools and that's even better.

It almost happened two years ago but Carthage fell short against Chaminade. Once again, they are knocking on the door but defeating Staley is going to be a tall order indeed.

Maybe Carthage will get a beat down. Personally, I think Carthage has been underperforming and thus underrated at times this season, especially vs Ozark and the debacle at CJ. But things are really clicking at a good time. Turnovers have been the most consistent problem for the Tigers this year and they will have NO room for that at Staley (although I said the same thing about Battle). This is a talentented group that is playing with confidence and unity after a pretty shaky start to the season. I would not count them out!

It would be a long time coming if Carthage were able to find a way to get past Staley and even make an appearance in the title game. The state game has been elusive for Carthage in spite of some pretty consistently good teams over the last 15 years. Something CJ is experiencing now that they are coming onto the scene as well.

I'm hoping for a Class 5 title match between my hometown Pattonville Pirates and the Carthage Tigers.

I'll celebrate with a huge pizza dinner with the family at Shakespeare's Pizza in CoMo before the game.

I just don't know how there can be a clear choice when 2 teams with no common opponents from different parts of the state play. Carthage is overshadowed by Webb and this year CJ. Those are pretty good teams to be overshadowed by. I understand Staley has proved to be very good and wouldn't be surprised if they win easily but wouldn't be shocked if Carthage played a good game and won. It isn't like Staley has won 5 straight titles.

Score 70.

Best QB in the Metro (Raybourn), a Travis Kelce look-alike TE (even has #87) and a cast of very speedy WRs. Were this game down south would look a bit different but they are like a track meet at home and VERY physical. Unless they've sustained any key injuries I don't know about I expect this one to be settled by halftime.

Well Carthage knows about facing fast WR’s. Carl Junction’s 4 x 100 state champion team last year was basically the WR’s and QB. Mind you CJ hung 49 points on Carthage so they had a rough time in that game. Carthage’s own WR Arkell Smith is as good and talented as any in the state. He has made some big time plays this year.

At the end of the day though I don’t think Carthage has the horses to stay with Staley for 4 quarters. I would like to be wrong.

Haven't been to the relocated Shakespeare's. Same great taste, or has it changed? I always preferred the downtown location to the south one.

Shakespeare's is open again at its original location. All three, original, south, and west locations are as good as always.

We walked by the relocated one at the Miss St. game a week before the CS1950 crap blew up but didn't stop in as we had stayed at Trops too long. Good to hear it's up to par.

Another one I miss is Mugs up drive-in. Their root beer is off the chain and foods good too.

So they're noticeably faster at home? That's a little odd.
