So far in KC these are my surprises,
Grain Valley is looking very good. Not sure if they are 4A or 5A now. Beat Platte County who handled Kearney last night and whipped Oak Park who took Lees Summit to the wire.
Liberty in 6A. Whipped Blue Springs and beat a good Liberty North team.

On the negative side, Blue Springs has gotten crushed by Liberty and Ray Pec giving up 40+ both nights. Not sure I've ever seen that and been following them for two decades.

Grain Valley beat Smithville. Not PC. PC has beaten Park Hill South and Kearney.

It sounds like you live in the Northland based on your other posts. I just recently saw the Platte County district boundaries. How did that ever come to be? Comes right down into the heart of Park Hill. Bizarre

That use to be all Platte City school district area (when it was just countryside) before annexation from both NKC and Park Hill school districts over time. Parts wanted to stay with Platte City (now Platte County) thats why map so crooked

Biggest surprise to me is the fact that Warrensburg hasn't gotten flags thrown on their coaches being almost out to the numbers. I mean it is a rule that if the ball is not in play you can be in the box but when the ball is in play get back. Not hard... the defensive coordinator (I believe) acts like he is trying to play instead of being an example to his players and staying back. I would hate to be the back up coach with that guy yelling at the zebras and players all the time!!!

And somehow, the land that used to be Metro North Mall just east of 169 (in Clay County) is sectioned off into Platte County School District.

It puts them closer to chest bumping position when their players come off the field.
