Summer Hoops Question

Can my assistant coach or I coach a summer MAYB or AAU team that has 2-3 of our high school players on it if we fill the rest of the team with guys from other schools? New to the varsity coaching ranks and wanting to know how this works with MSHSAA.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but I think he's talking about summer, and not summer dead period. Summer stuff starts on page 75.

In short, I'm fairly certain the answer to your question is yes. You actually don't even have to have kids from other schools on the team any longer, IIRC. MSHSAA opened up summer stuff some 10-12 yrs ago I think. Can't swear to it though. Maybe your AD or an email to MSHSAA (save the reply for proof) might be a good resource. Certainly better than my barely educated guess.

If you coach and there are players from your own team then it counts as one of your 20 contact days.
