That is usually a good tournament. Sullivan is a pretty heavy favorite I think, but there are some quality programs there that could trip them up.

Always good games at this tourney. I think Helias is rated a little to high. They lost some good players and have inexperienced players that will need to step up.

Agree with you Options considering that they have already lost to Blair Oaks who was defeated by 46 points by Boonville. But, I don't know much about the rest of the field so maybe correct seeding.

Not sure how St. James got that seed. What was that based off of? But not sure who you would put in front of them. Borgia probably the only one as they beat the pretty handily last year.

This early in the season the seeds usually come down to guess work and reputation. St. James has a good reputation, so if no other team makes a strong case to be highly seeded St. James makes sense to fill higher seeds.

Oh they do have a good reputation, can't argue that. Or they wanted to try for a St. James-Sullivan final, which would be the difference between and 3 or 4 seed. How many return starters did st. james have? Looks like Borgia has 3 returning to a team that soundly defeated them last year. But it looks like another good tourney.

Opening round games scheduled for tonight (Monday Dec. 16) are cancelled. Tournament has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday December 18-20.

Anyone have the actual bracket on this tourney and what is the reschedule times

Ok. I got to see the games last night as I was in the mood to go watch some girls basketball. Will just give a brief overview of what I thought.

#3 St. James vs #6 Owensville. The only upset of the night. There was a whole lot of youth on the floor as there should be some good battles to come between these two teams in the next few years. There was some young athletes on both some of the ball and it was definitely the best game to watch of the night. The four rivers conference will be a hard conference this year for either of these two teams to win, but possibly in the future.

#2 Helias vs #7 Cuba. Helias lost a lot from last year but returned some athletic girls with some length to them. The won pretty handily but I don't see them as strong as what they were last year. Cuba though also had some youth to their team vs a few more upper class players for Helias. They will win that side of the bracket pretty handily in my eyes. Or at least should.

#4 Borgia vs #5 Salem. Thought his game was going to be a bit better than what it was. I saw that Salem was like 4-1, but not sure who they have played. Salem had some athletic girls but just didn't seem quite as good as Borgia, and had problems with Borgia's press. I notice the Borgia 6' 1''Junior girl who was all tournament last year was out with a boot on her foot. Borgia might have been under ranked by the looks at this.

#1 Sullivan vs #7 Northwest. Sullivan handily defeated NW. They could have by as much as they wanted. At one time I think it was 24-0. Had a long drive home so I didn't watch the second half. A lot of seniors on Sullivan and you can tell they been together for a while.

Just for fun. Tournament rankings that probably should have been after the first night from what I saw

1. Sullivan
2. Borgia
3. Helias
4. Owensville
5: St. James
6. Salem
7. Cuba
8. Northwest

Good report, go on your record, get that second stripe in two or three years.

That was a good call on St. James and Borgia needing to be switched. Sullivan and Borgia sounds like it should a good game. St. James should win that consolation side.

I would put Borgia's chance a heck of lot better if the had their 6'1'' girl. She's also a lefty so between their few tall girls they would actually have the advantage I believe down low. As far as point guard I believe it will be even. The sullivan girls do a good job, and the Borgia girl really see's the whole floor very good. Sullivan just had the seniors who have played together for a long time so they probably have the edge with Borgias injuries. But I will say this, some of this might come down to who has the less turnovers. Both teams had way to many.
