Don't you think strength of schedule has been factored into the rankings? Teams can only play the opponents on their schedule; something over which they have no control.

It might do you some good to read calpreps.com's explanation on how their rankings work

Its factored in. But in real life, teams (and the computer rankings) often get exposed when they finally face tough competition.

Nixa, Ozark, Republic and Carthage all play the exact same schedule and have different strength of schedule rankings? Likewise, Branson isn't even top 25?

If there are four teams in a conference: A, B, C, D. And they only play each other and do so an equal number of times then their schedule strength would be the reverse of their ranking.

Ranking
1. C
2. A
3. D
4. B

Schedule Strength
1. B
2. D
3. A
4. C

So you're telling me that Republic has a tougher strength of schedule than Carthage because Carthage doesn't have to play Carthage and Republic does?
All opponents are the same except for the game they play each other in. Carthage is a better team therefore making Republics schedule “tougher” than Carthages

Well, by this logic, Springfield Central plays the toughest schedule in the nation!

Well if first 8 games are against the same opponents then at that moment their (Carthage and Republics) strength of schedule is the same..... Republic is not good and Carthage is a top 5 team in the state..... therefore Republics last opponent (Carthage) is tougher than Carthages last opponent (Republic) ...... giving Republic a tougher strength of schedule..... ( I typed slowly for you but I don’t think it works that way )

Its important to note that conferences that don't play any nonconference games are much more difficult to judge with the computer as they have no common opponents with anyone else in the state until the playoffs
