State tourney to Columbia in 2024

While being centrally located will make travel easier for many, Springfield seemed to be the better venue. The area seems to support high school basketball more. It is a lot easier to switch between the venues if you want. But, it is understandable, Mizzou Arena, doesnt see a lot of good basketball. LOL

I like the central location aspect as well. The walk between JQH and Hammons is extremely quick, but the walk from Mizzou Arena to Hearnes is also a quick walk as well. We are pretty blessed in this state to have a couple of different options who offer relatively quick access between the two arenas like that.

I enjoyed having it in Springfield but at least I can still watch the Blue and Gold and the TOC down there and get the full Springfield HS basketball experience. I suppose the Norm Stewart Classic is a similar experience in Mid-Missouri but the HS basketball scene has seemed stale in CoMo since the Final Four moved to Springfield.

Might as well. Not that I'll have a team who'll be in contention while it's back up there.
Man, I feel for you. The Hickory Hills class of 2024 won the SPS 8th grade championship. Not ONE of those players is playing at Glendale. Until you change coaches, it’s not gonna change for you.

where did they all go?
One to Republic (the best one), one just moved to Fair Grove to escape, the others literally quit playing. There’s a frosh there now, playing varsity, that I guarantee won’t be there next year. He’s gotta go.

For media, Springfield is awesome going between games. I have covered games at Columbia, but they have a high hurdle to be better than Springfield.

I watched them play twice this summer. A lot of athleticism, but lacked discipline, players mouthing refs and opponents. One player got T'd up and the coach said something to the effect of "you've go to understand what I'm dealing with" to the ref, and shortly after that player was back in the game. I'm an outsider, but it looked like the patients running the asylum a little bit..They did have 1 or 2 players trying to do things the right way and seemed frustrated with their less than "sporting" teammates.

I could say many things in reply to that, but I probably shouldn't. People know what the problems are, yet no action is taken. Very frustrating.
