Per Jason West "MSHSAA state football will be back at Mizzou for both weekends starting next year, it will be in CoMo for the next 5 years"

Completely random idea but it would be kind of cool if they had venues in each region of the state and held the next years state championship in whichever region had the most champs. I am sure this idea has all sorts of problems but would kind of be cool to see which region got the games each year.

Centralized part of the state, makes sense. Also, good facilities for everyone involved.

Good facilities, in what way? Nothing special about those facilities in any way, IMO.
C'mon. A D1 university in the SEC is going to have a nice facility.

Although I still prefer the climate controlled dome, anyway. Who wants to sit outside in the elements over Thanksgiving weekend when the dome is 72 degrees, artificial turf, no wind or rain?

I too would like the games in the Dome, if games have to played outside Faurot Field is the best option for everyone.

That's too bad. I heard a ton of positive feedback when MSU hosted and mostly mixed reviews from MU. Great facility but the same issue as the dome where it's way oversized for the event and thus lacking crowd atmosphere.

Columbia's location is good for everyone except the southern corners of the state. I liked the idea of going back and forth between Columbia and Springfield.

Southern Corners ? You mean like Lamar, Webb City, Big 8 Conference, Valle ? We got to go somewhere else and turn around to get to Columbia.

Thanksgiving weekend only Class 5 will be played. All others will be played the following weekend in December!

Is there some reason why the games have to be held at the same site? There are a number of small colleges and large high schools that have the facilities to host the games. I think central location is important. UCM could host a game, smith-cotton, rock bridge, Jeff city could all host small school games and it would still have a high school feel...

You wouldn't still go to all of the games every year if it was not centrally located?

We've beat this horse enough, haven't we? Separate locations force MSHSAA into staffing issues. One location, one staff. If it was truly an event that generated significant income, ie. hotels, restaurants, etc. one would think that St. Louis would find a way to make it work. So, they either are who we say they are, or it is actually not financially advantageous to utilize the dome.

Someone commented on one of these threads about the dome not being a good location after the Rams left and had been gone awhile because there would be an extensive need for turf upkeep and no one would be doing it anymore??

Not really looking "game ready" now...

I honestly think it’s good to have the state championships in the middle of the state but do agree having it at the best venue possible.
