Per Jason West "MSHSAA state football will be back at Mizzou for both weekends starting next year, it will be in CoMo for the next 5 years"
Good facilities, in what way? Nothing special about those facilities in any way, IMO.Centralized part of the state, makes sense. Also, good facilities for everyone involved.
C'mon. A D1 university in the SEC is going to have a nice facility.Good facilities, in what way? Nothing special about those facilities in any way, IMO.
You would think.C'mon. A D1 university in the SEC is going to have a nice facility.
Columbia's location is good for everyone except the southern corners of the state. I liked the idea of going back and forth between Columbia and Springfield.
so both class 6 and 8 man, then class 1,2,3,4,5 will be at mu
Thanksgiving weekend only Class 5 will be played. All others will be played the following weekend in December!C'mon. A D1 university in the SEC is going to have a nice facility.
Although I still prefer the climate controlled dome, anyway. Who wants to sit outside in the elements over Thanksgiving weekend when the dome is 72 degrees, artificial turf, no wind or rain?
Rotate Missouri State, Northwest Missouri, Central Missouri, South East Missouri. Would make better HS atmospheres IMO.
You wouldn't still go to all of the games every year if it was not centrally located? Is there some reason why the games have to be held at the same site? There are a number of small colleges and large high schools that have the facilities to host the games. I think central location is important. UCM could host a game, smith-cotton, rock bridge, Jeff city could all host small school games and it would still have a high school feel...
Even more reason to use the dome!Thanksgiving weekend only Class 5 will be played. All others will be played the following weekend in December!
We've beat this horse enough, haven't we? Separate locations force MSHSAA into staffing issues. One location, one staff. If it was truly an event that generated significant income, ie. hotels, restaurants, etc. one would think that St. Louis would find a way to make it work. So, they either are who we say they are, or it is actually not financially advantageous to utilize the dome.
