These two Shorter kids are lights out right now especially the big SR hitting everything he throws up and Nixa seems tight and a bit out of sorts.
25-8 mid 2nd wow. Nixa simply looks shocked now. Jacking up line drives and rushing everything and seems bothered by Kickapoo being able to dictate tempo and break their press.
But stayed patient and shots started falling plus keeping that speed up I think sapped a bit of energy from Kickapoo who seemed very relieved to get to half up 10.
When Nixa runs like that both ways (amazing hands causing all those TOs) they are lethal. Very interesting to see what the Chiefs have in the tank come the second half.
Kickapoo may have held serve there. Nixa stole ball twice right out of half and cut to 6 but missed a key third chance and game reverted from there i.e. Eagles having wild shots and one and outs while the SR Shorter went back to work.
#11 for Nixa trying to single handedly take this one over but Kickapoo continues to survive now up 8. 7m to go.
Live by the 3. Die by the 3. Poo up 13 3m left. Gym is a sweat box. Don't envy the kids but they are all gutting this out.
Plus you can study their tendencies and practice for the rematch. Kickapoo all around prepped beyond well for this one!
Wow a deep pass INT then a quick 3 by (who else) #11 Combs................then 5 second violation Eagles down 5 30s left!
Out of all the outstanding players in swmo combs sits at the top.
Nixa had their chance in the last 2 minutes even with how they played the rest of the game.
I can sure see that! Mega star only issue is it seemed he felt he had to take this one himself down the stretch.
Great game championship effort both sides! Congrats to Kickapoo who "likely" (it is basketball after all) gets under the KC radar LS West in the Quarters.
Another uber-packed gym (love to see it!) at Staley. Only caught a couple of minutes of 2nd with no scoring. Very, very raucous crowd as KC Northlanders would expect between these two!
They just beat Sikeston by 27 3 weeks ago at Sikeston.
