Good 1st half, Kearney broke off a long pass for a TD but not much else. Staley eventually wore them down. RB for Kearney is a workhorse, just didn't have many holes tonight, other than the long pass, Kearney QB didn't do much. Staley RB had a real nice game, their qb play (they play 2) might be what gets them beat. Kearney D good, Staley D was better. Kearney has a strong legged kicker, 2 really good linebackers, and a D lineman who is real solid. Staley LB core was all over the place and super fast. After letting up the long pass their pass D really tightened up. Both teams had some dumb penalties.

Much better game than last year. Kearney/Platte City should be a good one.

Missed call on a tipped ball. Cost kearney 40+ yards at a critical time in the game.

Kearney will be just fine (am, though, curious how Mordecai came out of this one he was a bit gimpy at times). Went to the game with a former MOSports KTown poster who was asking repeatedly why K didn't do certain things offensively: I gave the same answers 1) Staley's D Line is tremendous, maybe the best around and 2) who is next week's opponent?

Staley is not quite there yet (was totally shocked to find their ENTIRE O Line from 2017 is back minus one tackle) offensively but HOLY COW what athletes, especially that Moss RB kid their sure fire next Simone contender, they have. Once it clicks this may be every bit the team they were last year especially given their D looks better than 2017 especially the line (as previously mentioned).

Kearney showed tremendous heart and never, ever mailed this one in they simply were up against the 2018 version of the Falcon express. I assure everyone they won't see anyone like this no matter how deep into the playoffs they venture (and I still think it will be well into November). That being said Platte County was extremely impressive tonight so next week's contest in KTown could be something else.

Staley is #1 in C5 for a reason
They came into 2018 losing all those top skill offensive players so that side of the ball was a question................geez no more! Two weeks from now they host Lee's Summit West. That will be a MUST SEE in person contest!

LSW only beat FO by a TD.

Of course last year they turbo clocked K and nearly turbo clocked C4 semi finalist Platte County

Scores etc. don't tell the whole story as most everyone here knows. Kearney is much, much improved especially defensively from the last two years in all honesty. Offensively they have work to do but I have a feeling we will see much more from them next week and beyond. One thing I want to see is the QB not feel the pressure so much and stand in the pocket and follow through better than tonight BUT again this D was ridiculously good.

Wasn't Staley/PC tied at half last year? I think PC threw all over them in the 1st half and then Staley woke up.

Staley district isn't good, not sure about FO's. I agree, hope it happens.
Fort has Belton and Raytown to deal with. Any given night could see either give them a game not sure either has the overall balance to beat them, though. Fort again proved tonight that scheduling up has its benefits. Just like Kearney the Indians don't have to worry about LSW they are C6's problem now.

Yes. Staley did not blitz the entire first half and their secondary got torched. IF they have one weakness that may be it but sure didn't see evidence of that tonight. Time will tell...............

What the heck happened to Raytown this week? Lost to Oak Park 14-7.

Fort had a 15-0 lead late in the 3rd but couldn't hold it. A few mistakes and penalties killed them. Can't do that against teams like LSW. I do think if LSW has a weakness it may be that they are a bit one dimensional on offense. But man, do they have some weapons at the wr position.

That Raytown score is the shocker of the week for me. OP was one of the worst teams I saw at any level last year, just brutal.

They did the exact same thing last year. Looked like world beaters one week then lost to Ruskin in the first round of the C5 district playoffs. It is frankly way beyond me..........

That will play well for them vs. Staley IF they can find a way to block that D line. Not sure anyone can, though.

This is actually three weeks away and AT West but a MUST SEE contest. Will 100,000 percent attend..........
