Reports out of Southeast Missouri has class 4 St. Mary's ( 19-3 ) all-over class 3 Charleston. St. Mary's will be hosting class 5 Chaminade 16-3 next Tuesday evening. The Dragons 6'5" Miles Jones has been injured and if he plays, I have St. Mary's celebrating . Jericole Hellems did not play tonight against Chicago Curie. If Jericole Hellems does not play @ St. Mary's next Tuesday evening and Miles Jones plays, lock St. Mary's.
St. Mary's will host class 4 district 3 and the competition is Confluence 20-2 in a toss up game ( On Paper only ) to see who gets the honor of playing Vashon in the Sectionals. Confluence is very good and has played a great schedule. Confluence is one wild exciting team to watch but beating the St. Mary's Dragons @ full strength is a whole different thing.
Class 4 district 1 appears to be special with Cape Central and highly regarded Sikeston locking up in a toss up game.
Class 4 district 2 will feature host Farmington and the Hillsboro Hawks. Farmington has a very good chance to defeat Hillsboro on their home floor if they can defeat Cam VanLeer and the Pacific Indians @ Pacific on Feb. 22. Pacific has defeated Farmington the last five years in a row.
One of the above teams will play in the class 4 semi-finals ( Districts 1-4 ) in Springfield in March and I believe the odds favor either St. Mary's or Vashon.
