Tony Irons and his Vashon Woverines takes on highly regarded Charleston @ 6:30 PM on Friday evening in a game that could bring high rating for the winner. Charleston is a class 3 power and Vashon will be a class 4 power in the future.

Conversation with some of the St. Louis city coaches last night @ Borgia concerning who will be the top public high school in the St. Louis area, Tony Irons and Vashon's name continued to come up.The Class 4 state championship appears to be " Wide Open " but Vashon and Sikeston will be in the discussion.

I was talking with a Sikeston fan in the Webster Jam, this fan indicated to me Charleston could win a class 3 state championship and could challenge Sikeston for the top team in Southeast Missouri. I tried to tell him that Charleston could not win the class 3 state championship because of Kansas City Barstow who is the big favorite.

Scott County Central the defending class 2 state champions has a new look and 2-3 new players will play Covington, Tn. @ 2:00 PM on Friday. This is a game of interest for class 2 teams in Southeast Missouri and could answer questions on SCC being able to repeat as class 2 champion in Missouri. Bloomfield and Bernie most likely will keep a close eye on this one and thinking of what could have been.

If not for a 4-5 hour drive, I'd be all over that. Should be some great hoops today and tomorrow.

Maybe someone could post the score of the Charleston-Vashon game. I will post the score after I return from the Borgia Tournament. Pacific and Cardinal Ritter gets it on @ 6:00 Pm.

Shoot me a Pacific/Ritter score too, if you don't mind.

Here we goes Eagle, The Pacific Indians are a very young team with 3 sophomores and two juniors dominating play. The Indians lost to Ritter by 10-12 points but was within 5 points with about 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The young Indians had two intentional fouls during the last two minutes which allowed Ritter to increased their lead from 5 points to 10-12 points. McCluer North and Soldan was doing battle when I left the Gym @ the half intermission. McCluer North was up by 7-8 points and most likely won the rights to play Ritter for the championship Sat.

The Pacific Indians will play ( I'm guessing, Soldan ) and will be a small underdog however don't count the Indians out of the 3RD place game. Borgia has two big lopsided wins to date but North Tech has a chance to defeat the Borgia Knights in the championship game but I would not bet against the Borgia Knights on their home floor however a few North Tech fans disagrees with me.

Reports out Southeast Missouri has Vashon doing a running clock against one of the top teams in SEMO. The report also stated Vashon has 3 sophomores and 2 Juniors in their starting line up and the Wolverines have size not seen in Souteast Missouri in years. I'm guessing Tony Irons and the Vashon Principal have the " Pick of the litter " in St. Louis City basketball and that's not good for class 4 across Missouri.
