St. Louis experts, what is Trinity looking like in 2019?

According to 24/7sports:

9 of the 27 players go to public schools.

Of the 9 public school players:

-6 are from the St. Louis metro area
-2 are from KC metro.
-1 is from Columbia.

18 of 27 go to private schools

-6 go to Trinity
-5 go to Lutheran North
-3 go to DeSmet
-2 go to Cardinal Ritter
-1 goes to Chaminade
-1 goes to CBC

Out of 337 school that play high school football in Missouri only 33 are private schools.

So 10% of the schools have 66% of the high level recruits? Makes sense.

Trinity is getting a transfer QB coming in. 6’4 pocket passer. Supposed to be the real deal but Of course we wont know. Trinity is starting its season @ Lutheran North and then @ East St Louis again so we’ll know off the bat what they’re made of

Misleading for CR. They have a Freshman WR who was offered by both Georgia and LSU yesterday. He’s already one of the top players in the State they are as loaded as LN/Trinity/Desmet.

STL C/o 2020 and 2021 >>>>>>, Crazy that all the states top recuits, private school or not are coming from the same city.

We complain about Trinity now, but keep an eye out for Lutheran St. Charles. They're going to be just as dominant.

They've got a freshman defensive lineman who is bench pressing 375 and squatting 600. They have two stud sophomore defensive linemen who are going to be legitimate 4-5* recruits. Alabama is after one of them hard, Nebraska for the other one. Another freshman they have (coaches son) is an underarmour All-American at return man.

IMHO, private schools have always been chock full of blue-chip talent. But now it's a hell of a lot more noticeable as they tend to the smaller private schools in Class 2/3. Obviously the CBCs, SLUHs, DeSmets, and Chaminades are still going to pull in their fair share of talent as well, but whether it be Golden State, Alabama, or whatever, kids like to build "super teams" nowadays.

Why they want to do it at small schools? I have no clue. It's not like those guys wouldn't be just as crucial to the team at a place like CBC or DeSmet. You can't sit here and tell me with a straight face that there is a team in MO (maybe excluding CBC with Gabbert) that Isaiah Williams from Trinity couldn't have started for. That kid was a man amongst boys.

I think that it's so noticeable now because of the huge talent gap between these small privates and their opponents. Blair Oaks kids, who just got voted as the #2 small school team in the USA by MaxPreps, and just had arguably the best team Class 2 has ever seen, is getting looked at by lower-level D2's at best. Now obviously, BO beat the daylights out of LN in the semi's, but just think of that talent gap. I read an article from 2018 stating that Trinity's junior class alone (2020) had over 100 D1 offers!

Let's just make sure to not redirect our hate toward the kids at these schools. Are they skirting the rules? Yeah probably. Should MSHSAA at least attempt to make them play someone their own size? Definitely. But these kids still work hard and remember that they are still acne-faced 16 year old kids failing algebra and learning to drive.

More of them get to play AND stand out as top recruits I guess... if they spread themselves out over all classes. That's apparently what it's all about now.

If they had that much talent how did they lose to Blair Oaks? Outcoached or outworked? Or both?

Blair Oaks’ RPO was run to perfection. Player effort by LN might’ve been a factor, but I doubt it would’ve mattered much. Only one team in each class wins State. The teams that won had the best teams ... not necessarily the best players. High school players have to put themselves in front of college recruiters, also. There are a LOT of coaches, parents and players thinking “if you’re good enough, schools will find you”. More often than not, it simply doesn’t work that way.

So they must have just been severely outcoached if they couldn't win state with all that college talent.

Idk if they were out coached, but LN was definitely out played. The better team won. Blair Oaks was the best Class 2 team in Missouri and they played like it all year.

Who's responsiblity is it to get that college level talent ready to play?

I'd say one way or another, LN was flat out outcoached.

It happens. Webb got out coached by Ladue. Lamar got out coached by Cassville AND Lathrop. Blair Oaks went undefeated, so they out coached everyone. Teams lose.
