SRVC

I don't know about that. PC should be in the hunt and might run away with it but I don't know why anyone would expect that. Sarcoxie has the best returning talent. PC was very young last year but didn't perform very well. Diamond lost a lot of talent and coach but they have been trending up. Miller has a lot of young talent and a new coach who has proven himself many places. Lockwood and Jasper have been at the top for several years but might have numbers problems. Liberal seems to always have numbers problems.
Looks like it is wide open to me.

I'd say Sarcoxie or PC would have to be favorites. Liberal returns 10 starters on both sides of the ball and i think they'll surprise a few people. Jasper doesn't have number problems imo we have 24-26 kids and should be ok this year. Miller and Lockwood I have no idea but I know Lockwood lost a lot again Bates being the biggest lose. Diamond also lost a ton of talent and I have no clue what to expect from them.

26, if you are saying Jasper is in good shape numbers wise, that is good news. Liberal having the Bronaugh kids has helped them get the needed numbers and Golden City getting a few Lockwood boys to boost their numbers (just having fun guys) makes it look like things will be stable. Would sure be nice to see everyone get to 30 or so on numbers. I'd guess Miller will be around 40. The SR and JR classes have been small but the Soph and Frosh groups have been huge.
I have no idea how Miller looked in jamboree. I was in Ohio on vacation and haven't talked to anyone. I do know Miller played Freshmen a lot of minutes last year including QB and RB with a couple linemen Frosh. New coaches can bring quick change or slow change. If coach LaSalle runs a similar system to what he ran at Marionville, it will be a major change from the spread Miller has run for years but he also ran a small number of plays and focused on execution so learning the new system would have a shorter learning curve. Miller starts with 2 non conference games so hopefully by conference time they will be well versed and ready to roll.
Love to hear about the other schools thoughts. Seems like it's all brand new and unknown this year.

I guess the numbers could be a little better like that 1 SRVC team that dropped to 8 man with over 30 kids the last 2 years.

I really don't understand their thought process. They seem to have the numbers and travel has to be a bear as is. Maybe someone wants to kill that program. Maybe they think we will all go 8 man.

PC has to be favorite. They have a ton back from a 7 win team. They are also young as well. They actually started more freshmen than Miller last year. Miller went 5 wide the entire jamboree. Hoping it's not what we run all year. It will take some time to get the culture changed. I just want to see improvement as the year goes on.

The conference won't be the same if we don't get Greenfield back to 11 man. By MSHAA rules, weren't they stuck at 8 man for this season? Some of the lesser developed minds on here have even claimed they would've won the SRVC last season had they played 11. Who knows?

PC/Sarcoxie go in as favorites. Then I got Diamond, Miller, Liberal, Jasper, Lockwood. Can't wait to get started!

Pierce City was very impressive in their Jamboree. Good size and speed. Didn't see what they did against Lamar, but they scored 3 or 4 touchdowns each against Stockton and Neveda. Stockton didn't get a first down and only had a few positive plays. Neveda struggled to move the ball as well.

PC has the speed, size, and depth to very difficult to compete with so it should be interesting to see how others in the SRVC will compete.

Don't count on getting Greenfield back anytime soon. Too many people embracing the easy 8 man schedule. They were pretty decent last year and could have competed in the srvc, In my lesser developed mind anyway but I also believe it is way easier to be competitive in 8 man vs 11 man but what do I know.
Greenfield walked through most of their schedule last year and have decent numbers this year it appears so we will see how it turns out. How many srvc teams are still 11 man without a co-op??? Miller still getting Everton boys?

I personally don't think Greenfield should have the option to stay in 8 man mshsaa should step up and make Most of the good 8man teams move up.. I heard the top 2 8 man teams last year had over 30 kids.. That's nuts imo just bc I can beat a 2nd grader in basketball doesn't mean I should be able to stay in the 2nd grade league.

But knowing Greenfield they sure like winning evening if its beating up on teams with 12-15 players...

Come on mshsaa step in and make these large 8 man teams move up.. It's a 1 yr cycle now so it shouldn't be a problem. And yes Miller as far as I know still coops with Everton.

Lamar uses the Jamboree differently than most teams.

Lamar Freshman played vs Pierce City (probably JV)

Lamar JV played against Stockton JV

Lamar Varisty and Neveda Varisty went last.

I want Greenfield to be 11 man more than anyone but as far as school enrollments go, we are towards the middle or bottom half of schools with 8 man football. There are at least 12-15 8 man teams out of 24 with a larger enrollment than Greenfield.

I think Miller still co-ops with Everton but as far as I know there hasn't been a player from Everton impact the varsity. There have been at lower levels and they may now be old enough.

BHP was the one spouting off that Greenfield would've won the SRVC last year.

I would think the wildcats would want to move back up to 11 man. If they don't want to, they should state that fact and move along. Waiting each season to fill out a schedule based on whether they want to play in our conference shouldn't be an option. In fact, all of the schools that are desperate enough to co-op should be considered suspect.

Sarcoxie, Pierce City and Diamond should consider petitioning the Mid Lakes for membership.

I screwed that up bad, meant to say I want greenfield to be 11 man.

Bleach, by impact varsity I assume you mean a starter or a player that gets quite a bit of playing time on the varsity but how many numbers do you get out of the co-op. IMO numbers help a lot

As far as I know there have never been more than 1 or 2 from Everton in any given season. I don't think there are any this year. I don't know that for a fact. We had a few years of nice participation in mighty mights when the co-op first started, but most if not all melted away before getting to high school.

I know they do, I was just going by what I saw PC do against the other two teams I watched them go against.

This.
I don't know of ANY Everton players on the high school team any year but there might have been a couple so I chose my words carefully. The "co-op" doesn't affect our classification so why not have it in case? There may some day be a kid from Everton who really wants to play and this gives him that opportunity he would otherwise be denied.

I'm not against bud, just curious how it affected Miller numbers wise. I am also jealous that Greenfield can't seem to get a co-op
