This is the first SRVC team to make the semi finals. I know we are not the best team of all time in the conference or even in the top 10 but these kids and coaches have played well at the right time against who they have been lined up against. I hope the conference is proud we have a representative at least this far. The odds are definitely stacked against us against the juggernaut in Valle but these kids will play their hearts out no matter what.
Veer and millerbleach can rattle and try to make fun of these boys for being where they are but we are still proud of them no matter what and would be proud of any other school that would get to this point.

I know it's hard for you to see that I haven't ever made fun of "these boys" for anything. To state that their path was easy doesn't do justice to how easy their path was. I have said I was pleased to see them get here because failing to do so would have been disappointing since the path was easy. It is neat that the 3rd place SRVC team has been able to get this far.

Being from jasper this is tough to say... But when the season started I figure Lockwood would be down with the loss of a lot of athletes like Bates but The Wood didn't lose much steam at all and played Pretty good ( puke) lol.. No you guys might not win but at least you're still playing. Congrats Lockwood

Still haven't decided which game that I'm going to go to in the st.Louis area but if I end up at Valle I hope to see an upset.

By what Im hearing tonight the SRVC might look alot different next year with some Long time rivals going different ways...

Still Needs to be voted on but sounds as if 2-3 Srvc teams are going to the WEMO and the Srvc picking Up a few other teams or making a different conference.

No Osceola is actually coming back to 11 man next year and ive heard Liberal Jasper and Greenfeild joining the Wemo.

Interesting rumors; can't believe they'd leave Jasper out in the cold, unless they're ticked they won a couple of league titles. Eagles have showed up each year, and not once backed out to 8-man or JV only. If anything, it sounds like the WEMO may regain some potency if all this comes to fruition. As for the other potential new league... I give it ten years; there will be some teams in it ready to change once again by that point.

To My understanding the supers of the other schools have voted a few teams out of the srvc. And the Wemo reached out and ive been told our (Jasper) plans to join the Wemo

I'm an old Jasperite myself; I recall several of the same schools doing the same thing in the '80s. Seems a little like untrustworthy people in untrustworthy communities pulling a repeat stunt. Oh well, Jasper may end up in a better conference. Will this return to the WEMO be for all sports or just football? Just curious.

Jasper isnt going 8 man nor is Liberal and Greenfield is coming back.. Its a pretty Chicken sh*t thing to do to get together and vote teams out imo. Schedule strength? No offence but Millers Been horrible and Pleasant Hope is barely keeping a team.

Yep !! Marionville and Stockton are the 2 for sure with Ash Grove possibly moving

Stockton may be temporary; if the new Ozark Highland thing becomes more stable, they'd be the perfect addition. As for Pleasant Hope, the SRVC is a last-ditch effort to keep the program from what it seems. They may as well call it the Midwest Conference... the step backwards.

That's ok b/c the WEMO is a better conference 95% of the time anyway.
Only thing i hate about it is the driving distances during Basketball season.

Hopefully, they have a plan for that, or will develop one... such as longer trips (like Jasper and Midway) will be Fridays only. This needs to be encouraged anyways

My source is the Very high Up in Jasper schools... One that makes all these calls and a coach whos been here for over 25 + years and neighbor of mine. Trust me Its no rumor.

Also we had a Jr High Team this year i have no idea why we didnt play Miller and yeah the Jv thing in Jasper has been well not good the last few years.. Not sure if Its bc of numbers or bc our coach likes playing 2 Q jv games.. Which if thats the case i wouldnt blame others for not wanting to travel for 2 Qs

we played at least 2 games which was 2 qts due to some freshman and soph that played 4 qts on Friday..that was fine for me at least..
and for whats its worth Lockwood cancelled completely on JV about Thursday before the Monday

i do have a hard time believing/understanding Jasper and Greenfield due to the programs at least having a youth programs and community involvement. but at Liberal with no youth program it just seems they don't care about football...

I think we're beyond this just being a rumor mill topic... The November School Board Agenda posted on Adrian's site has the topic of WEMO expansion as one of the items to be discussed. I checked with those sites before even commenting on here. Your colleague, Millerbleach, also seems to be confirming it a bit with his talk. Wish it was rumor mill, but thinking it isn't at this point. Had to inquire.

Stockton is class 2. That helps strength of schedule. Are you saying Ash Grove and Marionville aren't consistently better than Liberal and Jasper?

I May be wrong but i think it May be a scheduling issue If Im Not mistaking schedules are done a year or two in advance and i think it allows the 3 teams joining the Wemo time to work out their schedules. But that's just my guess

WEMO will start improving sooner rather than later. They just didn't have a flagship power for one year. That'll change next year.
