Marionville @ - Miller had home field last year against the Comets. I went to that game and was pulling for the Cards. Unfortunately, I think this turns out about the same for the SRVC team this year. Marionville by 3TDs.

Week 11
LW - No way the greatest team in SRVC history fails to make a district final. Has white squirrels been turbo clocked lately? They better be ready this week.

Greenfield - Whats the school board think about this taking away from bball season?

Everyone still hating on me about the all time best in the SRVC. Lets see what happens tonight and then everyone can see what I'm talking about. We are at almost full strength. We wasn't against a very good Jasper team and we came out on top. We have 2 backs that Marionville has not seen anything like all year. What it comes down to is do they have guys that are gonna come up and hit play after play to stop it. #1 sure isn't going to. When things don't go their way look for his dad to lose it and get #1 out of the game mentally. All they have said is Valle this and Valle that. Guess they forgot you've got to play a few games to get to that point.

Interesting to see majority picking the Comets in this thread and more picking LT in the Mo Pickem. We'll be finding out who is correct soon enough.

Will weather be much of a factor in the LT/Marionville game? Would think that would benefit Lockwood more since they're more of a power run team

Lockwood
Jasper
Fair Grove
Greenfield I don't know anything about these 8 man teams, so I'm going with Greenfield just because I hope they win!

1st, the weather may not allow a fair evaluation.
2nd, Marionville is the 3 seed, I would hope the "best ever" would have no problems with a lower seed.
3rd, I truly hope Lockwood wallops them.....just don't expect it to be a game.
4th, it doesn't matter how good the backs are if you can't block.

What happened to Jasper? They lost 50-8 to a team that lost to Rich Hill??? Is that a misprint?

Jasper didn't impress me but that score is unexplainable. It must have just been a snowball thing.

So hokie are you finally ready to admit that the SRVC was just really weak this year which might of possibly made you believe the "greatest SRVC team ever" propaganda that you kept spewing? On that note though congrats to Lockwood and their coach on a good season but most years other than the last couple it would have been a third or fourth place finish at best. Sorry couldn't take it anymore after reading it all year.

Marionville did not impress me tonight. However they handled Lockwood like we expected all season. Maybe instead of trying to convince us hokahey and the other tiger faithfull will realize they just aren't that good. First Jasper now this. Not even the best Lockwood team since joining the srvc

gotta disagree fbfan.. I think this IS the best Lockwood team since joining the the conference.. SRVC champs and the first team from Lockwood to go undefeated since 1966.. Yep.. a good year for our boys and we're incredibly proud of them!
How did Greenfield do tonight?

We played hard and came up short. And to answer hokahey question earlier about school board and basketball. He's gotta remember our bball boys don't play football remember we're 8 man and half of em moved to Marionville, illegally of course duh. Haha

I disagree. Every ball they threw was on target and caught. In a cold rain storm like last night thats really impressive. Not sure what changed in the second half though. I left after the comets went up 48-18 figuring it was over. Nice to see that lockwood fought back and tried to close the gap

Probably the most talented lockwood team since 2001-2002.

When's the last time Lockwood made the playoffs? 06 an 07? I recall those games =)

This.
Records and margins of victory mean nothing when playing teams as weak as Lockwood had this year. There have been at least 2 Lockwood teams better than this years in the last 10 years. There have been several years this Lockwood team would have been 3rd in the SRVC. Those Miller/PC and Miller/Greenfield years Lockwood might not have been 3rd.

Does that apply to those 'great' miller teams too? Interesting.

That could be better answered by other league members. I don't think there is much question that it's apples and oranges though.
I've said many times that a overall tougher conference would have greatly helped some of those Miller teams. They did always have some good PC, Greenfield, Jasper, and Lockwood teams to play though. This years SRVC was as weak as I can remember.....almost as bad as the WEMO. Miller always tried to find ways to up the competition too. Hogan Prep, Thayer, and Marionville were usually the toughest games on the sched. Who does Lockwood play to make their case?

Perhaps the SRVC should have allowed McAuley in and actually encouraged them to recruit a little more. Having a private school in the league could help. Seems Greenwood in its better days may have kept the old Midwest Conference more competitive. Small schools in this corner of the state were winning more state titles back then.

When Greenwood played, Stockton was also in the league about twice as large as everyone else. But, there was also the patsies.....Golden City, and Liberal took turns seeing how long a losing streak they could have. McAuley needs numbers if they are gonna matter either way.

As far as state titles......Valle has probably had something to do with that. If Valle was what they are now then, probably wouldn't have had many then either.

Thayer will beat Marionville I'm guessing. Haven't seen Thayer play so I'm obviously just going off what I seen at Lockwood last night.
I did see a couple passes that weren't thrown very well and a couple drops. Yes the weather was rough for that but there was poor tackling and silly penalties as well. Lasalle did have what 400 yards and 6 or 7 TD's. He did impress me holding on to the ball and not afraid to hit or take a hit. He showed physicality and toughness on both sides of the ball. Still I think they struggle going forward
