It's time to get back in it. Man I love this time of year. Just wanna get some talk going this week before we get into the pick em. What's every ones thoughts?

My 2 cents...I'm definitely not gonna say Lockwoods gonna be the best SRVC team ever or anything but they will still be a force to be reckoned with. I heard we got a move in at the skill position so that should help with the early loss or if it turns into a future loss of that senior RB. The big question mark for these guys are both the Off and Def lines.

The rest of the SRVC though seems like an unknown to me. Diamond should be pretty solid and Liberal should be improved but Sarcoxie, PC, Miller and Jasper I really don't know.

Hopefully we can get some good incite from other towns this week for the upcoming season. Everyone look for the pick em on Monday.

If Kyle plays, Lockwood will be the favorite. The combination of Bates blocking for Bouldin is formidable at this level.
Diamond will be pretty good. They have just about every key piece back.
Jasper lost a lot and most of all, their coach. They shouldn't fall off the map but, I expect a step back.
Sarcoxie was VERY young last year and had some pretty good skill kids.
PC should be better. How much????
Liberal will be bad again.
Miller will likely be about the same. Better days are near though.

Miller comes to Windsor in week 2, what can I expect?

Last year Windsor would of killed Miller this year after u guys lost all those big guys it should be a good game.

I LOVE how everyone thinks Jasper will be down... We'll lose a couple of games Prob but don't expect an easy win.. I say we'll go 6-3

Ps Heard Liberal has 50 out for Football with a bunch of new kids... Dont take them lightly

Don't really know. I think they will be pretty average size and speed wise. Some kids with a lot of experience and some kids with no experience. Spread offense and spread defense.

I've heard a lot of good things about Diamond this year, and think Jasper will be better than what most are expecting... they may have lost some key players, but they have always played hard no matter what the odds were so they have that in their favor. Looking for Pierce City to be better too. A lot of Lockwood's JV from last year will be moving up to varsity this year, but they saw a lot of play time last year so I'm thinking they'll step up and do just fine.

Liberal played 8 man JH last year. Are they getting a big push from Brounough or something?

I'm Not sure... I heard at their first camp there was 50 boys (From a local retired coach friend).. I did hear they got 6-7 new boys who moved into town and as far as the others I don't know.. I wish them luck tho b/c they haven't done that great lately but the kids keep fighting hard so they have my respect.

Spring River on the whole is still down from it's historic mediocore baseline.
No district champs and the "top" teams will struggle even for runner up status.

People keep talking about Diamond and I have said it's gonna be PCs year for the last couple, so I might as well again.

Might be an interesting year with Lockwood and Jasper probably coming out at the top.
I like Coach Pitts from my brief stint riding the pine for the Joplin Crusaders, so I hope he does well at Jasper.

Miller can only improve and I've liked what I've seen so far. Lots of inexperience, so hopefully they have the grit to finish strong even if the start is a bit rocky.

You would think with the new field Sarcoxie would have more interest, but I haven't heard anything.

Interesting if Liberal actually has 50 kids out. Not sure what's going on there.

My friend are not quite up on your info in most of your posts!!!

Not new just don't post until I see incorrect information being tossed around. No big deal just saying your facts are wrong (meaning you are probably being misinformed) don't get your feathers ruffled so easy man!

I would say they might have half that many kids out, now I too could be wrong if things have changed since I was last told too

Talked to Liberal Coach he said they had 49 at the Football meeting BUT when camp started only 26 showed up... Said they were shocked so many didn't come back..

Liberal Looked Ok I think they'll win a few games where the other team takes them lightly They Played well tonight.

Rich Hill They have taken a step back from Last year !! They are passing the ball a lot more than they have in the years passed which shocked me. They'll be under .500

Jasper My Home Team... I was happy and Scared about a few things I seen... Hopefully they can get this fixed and be ready for Sarcoxie Next Friday.. I still say we go 6-3.. Also Jasper had the only Injury a ILB but what a coach told me is he'll be fine its nothing serious :) Great Night besides the whole car thing.

Sounds like it might be fun to go watch some of these small school games this year around southwest missouri. Heard Webb well was Webb and Carthage had a decent showing also. Wonder what people thought of Diamond,Lockwood, Pierce City, Sarcoxie, Miller(rest of Srvc schools) cause from what I have read and heard there will a lot of similar match ups throughout the season. Greenfield should be solid in the 8 man division too! I hope I get time to watch some of those match ups!!!

Went to East Newton!
LaSalle looks to be doing what he does. He seems to get the most out of the cards he is dealt. His team played inspired. They should compete in a few games. However, they will still have some very tough outs in the Big 8.

Miller surprised me with inspired play as well. The senior class looked like a different bunch of kids than we seen last year. The couple of freshmen looked very good and seemed to play well with the upperclassmen. We should see some nice improvement from the Cards this year.

Any reports from Lockwood, Diamond or PC?
Is Bouldin back?

Pierce City did some things well at the Stockton Jamboree, but did not play against a varsity defense until Stockton. Nevada and Lamar ran their JV's against Pierce City. They moved the ball some against Lamar's JV and I think scored, move against Stockton 4-5 yards at a time but threw an interception inside the 15. Ran an option style offense and do it better than they pass. Defensive and offensive lines played solid. Should be competitive.

Also went to EN.

Very happy with what I saw out of Miller. Especially the offense. Defense needs so work, but you could already see improvement.

I was surprised by Marionville. So much for them being down. 40+ kids out and they looked good. Offense started a little sloppy, but that's expected with only 1 returning starter. I expect Thayer/Marionville 1/2 in District 2 this year.

Somehow Lockwood managed to sneak out of the Valle bracket, at least till semis, I just noticed. Not much better route in District 3 though, even IF they squeak by the WEMO teams, D4 looks pretty loaded.

Time for my yearly Sarcoxie pick. Maybe this is the year?

PC has close to 40 kids out, but senior class is small. Could have a decent year. I think they're a year away.
