Why does the state allow these types of transfers to happen? More importantly, how does Catholic or Kickapoo classify these kids as eligible players? No offense to the kids as I am sure they are not only tremendous players, but good students and great young ladies, but is self regulating really working for MSHSAA? I do not know the state transfer rules, but it doesn't take rocket science to figure out something is not right with this situation. I do not know the full story on both girls deciding to transfer to Kickapoo after outstanding freshmen seasons at Springfield Catholic and their transfer to Kickapoo may be legitimate, but to an ordinary fan of HS athletics such as myself, this situation does not seem right. I will be the first to say as a general fan I do not know all of the rules the state association has set for such transfers and I am not trying to start anything here. I guess I am just asking for an interpretation of the transfer rules regarding this situation compared to other similar situations in which the student has been deemed ineligible and relegated to JV status for the year (the Kirk kid comes to mind). I am sure I am missing something and just looking for clarification.
