I always pick Sarcoxie. This is the year. Watch out for the purple bear!

Greenfield will make it farthest in the playoffs from the srvc..... In 8 man

Seen the Greenfield boys practicing. They look hungry. This should be the last year in 8 man, as large junior high classes are coming up. Not saying they will be good, but be back at 11 man in no time. Give it a few years, they will be scrapping it right along with Lockwood in no time. Just isn't right seeing my Wildcats play down in numbers. We are a proud group of followers here, and they will be back. Go Big Blue! (And Lockwood looks great this year) best of luck to them. I'd put my betting money on the Tigers.

Is the new field gonna be ready for this season? I haven't been out that way lately.
I think it is supposed to be done this season but not at the beginning. Maxpreps says you play at their place 9/4. Maybe a chance it is done by then? If not, it should be done in time for Diamond on 9/25. Did not hear where they would play home games if the field is not ready? I have a decent source over there so if I can remember, I will ask and give you an update.

What is the scouting report on your Cardinals this year?

I didn't go to the jamboree so not sure yet. They are up in numbers and return several skill kids. Very few returning varsity players however and the JV only got to play a couple of games last year. Could be a bumpy road until they get the feel for it.

So it goes in typical small school football that only Lamar, as a pulic school, seems to have found immunity. Good luck! Source tells me the turf was last scheduled to be complete on 9/8/15. However, rain in the forecast will delay that date even more. Looks like Diamond will be the first visiting team to play on the new turf. Then later, PC will be the only other home game the Bears will have this year. Plans include a nice 8 lane track and next year new bleachers on the west side of the field and new concession stand. Heard McAuley has dropped to 8 man and Sarcoxie went looking for an 11 man replacement game on the schedule?

Will there be an SRVC pickem this year?
