Wow this is really looking sad, folks. They did, after all, produce a one-hour HSFB preview show this past Tuesday BUT looks like no live game tomorrow night NOR any HSFB highlight show.

From what I understand they are about to lose the Jayhawk Network (not a KU fan at all so don't care except for its ramifications). If that is true I look for this channel, which entertained soooo many of us beginning with American Cablevision then the real glory years of MetroSports, to disappear into the sunset and SOON.

The KC Star published an article back in June that now appears to have been a warning this was coming..................very, very disheartening.

Yes, Charter Communications (Spectrum) doesn't do sports. They have slowly been shutting down the Time Warner sports affiliations across the country.

This channel was the only reason I stayed with cable for many years. Sad to see what has happened.

Are you sure on the live game tonight? I am showing Park Hill VS LSW will be live at 7. Did I miss something?

I hope you are right. I looked at their programming schedule on their website it showed a 2017 replay. I still worry big time about this station, though.

Yes. I used to look forward to their post-game Friday night highlight show. For a medium market like KC it was outstanding.

They did a top 25. Seemed like they put no thought into at all. Have Aquinas the #1 team in the city. Completely overlooked Liberty, I'm pretty sure they think Liberty and LN are the same school.

Back in the the day there was nothing better than Friday Night Metro Sport.

FWIW my KC Metro (MO side only) top 5 is: 1) Staley, 2) Rockhurst, 3) Park Hill, 4) Fort Osage, 5) Blue Springs.

I know last year they didn't do a show following the games either.

So. You really think Rock is better than BS this year? I could go Staley, FT, PH, BS and then Rock. First couple of weeks always seem to give us a better idea.
One week from today we will learn quite a bit I suspect. IF Park Hill, though, shows well offensively this could all change. They should field the best overall D in the KC Metro.

I am not as plugged in to the metro as I once was but I am surprised to see you both put Staley above Blue Springs and Park Hill. Didn't they lose a lot from last years squad?

On paper, other than an unknown at QB, Park Hill looks to be loaded.

They did but the next group (amazing numbers there) is, I suspect, ready to take the reins. Mark your calendars, everyone: Staley goes to Park Hill this October!

Rockhurst is the team to beat IMO, they have a lot coming back. Like most schools they have an unproven QB, but their line is massive.

In C5 its Fort's year, Staley loses everyone of importance except the RB. but If anyone can reload it's Staley. Best numbers in the city.

Yes but here again we know what PH has. Were not sure on what LSW, Rock or even BS (and you could probably throw in the other Suburban 6 schools) will be this year. I believe class 6 is wide open but just one or two injuries can derail a season.

On this side of the state C6 is. Over in STL CBC could be something else again!

In C5 I think a school like Raytown is a real sleeper this year. Good qb and D1 WR and I like Minnick as a coach. Wouldn't surprise me to see them win 7-8 games and if they can play a little defense pull off a couple of surprises. Also think NKC will be better than they have recently. I am not sure C5 will have a dominate team but I think it is stronger overall on the KC side.

Park Hill South has good numbers and a very nice RB coming back, too. Overall I do think the "middle class" of C5 will be much improved in KC but Staley and Fort are still heads and shoulders above the rest.........
