Absolutely correct and there's nothing to argue about here. KA's critics are self-styled wannabe experts who pretend they have inside info and hold him responsible for the trash heap left in Haith's wake. It took one year to completely estimate the damages and now he should get two more to try to fix it. No progress after three, fine. But for now these numbers and the facts make his critics look like impatient fools.

What does age have to do with it? I see quite a few over the age of 55 in this years Final Four.

There are plenty of guys that fans wanted to run out of town after their 1st year.

Kim Anderson will be 60 years old on May 12.
He could have many more years of excellent coaching left.
However, the coaches you listed were all young during their
struggles, they had a lot to learn and time to do it.
At sixty, trying to prove that you can recruit a great class
of D-1 players when you haven't done it is one hell of a task..

Are 4 star high school players going to believe in a 60 year old
unproven D-1 coach coming off this past season? This is one hell
of a hill to climb. A kid choosing mizzou is taking a risk.
There are safer choices.

Actually they didn't need a "lot of time" to turn their programs around, but they did need more than the one year you guys are wanting to give them. Some of these guys actually did it in their 2nd year...some a bit longer. The point isn't their age or experience, but that it takes a little time.

Don't take my word for it......check their career records and see for yourself.

We should know after 3 years if he can do I or not.

Duck, I'm right with you in this conversation. Some of these coaches may be 50+ but they were all a lot younger when they started coach at the D1 level. CKA is in way over his head.

Its not just coaching. Its recruiting dude.
He has one season to show progress.
Possibly only one semester. Progress must be shown.
Its 2015.

You brought up the age issue, so why is a guy over 50 at more of a disadvantage than one in his 30's? The same issues apply.

Tell us about your illustrious experience at the D-I level and intimate knowledge of the current situation at Mizzou that allows you to accurately judge how in "over his head" he is.

Or just stop embarrassing yourself with statements like that.

Relating to kids. Getting kids to want to play for you (unless you are a legendary coach).
Sorry pal but of all the teams in the power conferences only one
didn't win double digits. I'm rooting for the man but it doesn't look
good.

You don't have to be 30 to relate to kids Duck. Matter of fact I think I do it better today than when I was in my 30's and 40's.

I must have missed the book with all these rules for being a great coach......where do I pick one up?

The game has changed significantly in the last 20 years. You don't need to wait 5 years to see if you can rebuild. You can rebuild in 2-3 years if you can recruit. Kim Anderson cannot recruit at a high level.

Yea.....what the heck would he know about coaching.

Played basketball for Norm Stewart and was one of the all-time greats in Mizzou history.

Was drafted and played in the NBA

Assisted Stewart for over 17 years on some of Mizzou's greatest teams

Coached Central Missouri for over a decade, winning 75% of his games

3 Final Fours

1 National Championship

I can see he is totally clueless about college basketball.

Oh, he knows a lot about playing D1 basketball and coaching D2 basketball. Hasn't proven he knows anything about being a head coach of a Power 5 D1 basketball team. In fact, he's shown he's in over his head.

Yea...he takes over for a guy who couldn't run out of town fast enough (for Tulsa LOL) because he knew the talent level stunk and he was going to get fired. Comes in late and after just one year you come to the conclusion he can't recruit.

Running off most of the guys with actual talent to bring in a zero of a recruiting class isn't confidence inspiring.

i can find plenty of guys who had bad first years and got canned in 3-5 years. It's the norm.

I have no idea what he will be able to recruit, but the truth is you guys don't either. He deserves more than one year to prove whether he can do the job.

I agree he deserves more time but he also has to bring in people to replace all of the guys who he has run off.

After some thought about this I'm conceding

If there is anyone that should be an expert about being in over their heads.......it would be you.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
