SoBoCo could’ve gotten away with murder. They are an aggressive defensive team for sure. Fun to watch! But the refs kind of let the game get out of hand. California couldn’t match the intensity.

Wouldn't really call this an upset even though it was a #2 over #1. I had it rated as a toss-up, would never have figured this to be a blowout.
Don't know what happened to California at season's end, they had a blowout loss to Boonville also. Didn't see either game so I'm only speculating that they couldn't handle defensive pressure as they only scored about 35 points in each game.
Anyone have a concrete explanation?

The game was tied at 28 midway through the third quarter, then Southern Boone ended the third quarter on a 12-0 and started the fourth quarter on a 13-0 run with suffocating defense.

Thanks for the explanation. Wow, a 25-0 run in a championship game between a 1 and 2 seed is not an everyday occurrence.
