So UCF beat Auburn...and...

The Sunbelt conference is better than the Big 12 because they are 4-1 in Bowl Games this year, right?
Maybe. But how is a Nebraska a better job than UCF? Frost must love his alma mater unconditionally. Even if it is a tremendous pay increase. Doubt that he'll ever have a defensive line of brothers that swarm like those dude's in Lincoln.

A sturdy observation to recognize the distinction in the football breeding capacity of the Sunshine state. With a population of over 16.7 Million, Florida has much more to offer in terms of amassing a "swarm of dudes" as you put it, than the 1.7 Million (mostly Caucasian) population one finds in corny state of Nebraska.

Auburn beat Alabama 26-14

and Auburn beat Georgia 40-17

Hmmm? Maybe UCF is #1?

Auburn also beat Alabama. While comparing results isn't the best way to find a champion, UCF is not allowed any other way to do it.
At least 8 and probably 16 teams is what is needed in the playoffs. 16 would be 8 lower bowl games with much larger TV audiences. The 8 winners could play in the 4 major bowl games with the semis and finals after New Years.

Shaq Griffin is as tough as anyone with 2 hands is. Frost leaving sunny Florida and a multitude of available talent for the Nebraska winters makes no sense to me. He is in the penthouse at UCF and will be on a short rope at Lincoln. Can't imagine a scenario that he couldn't have a guaranteed nice standard of living for life staying put.

Clemson beat Auburn. 14-6
Auburn beat Alabama 26-14

So, if comparing scores is a valid indicator of determining #1, how is it possible that Alabama beat Clemson 24-6?

We should pursue this line thinking to a logical (or perhaps illogical conclusion?)
The venerable Universties of Georgia and Alabama, both lost to Auburn.
Auburn lost to LSU.
LSU lost to Troy.
Troy lost to Boise St. AND South Alabama.
South Alabama lost to Georgia Southern.
Georgia Southen lost to New Mexico St.
New Mexico St lost to Arkansas.
Arkansas lost to MIZZOU.

Ipso facto, the Tigers are your number one team.
