It's painfully obvious this guy isn't a good coach, right? Congrats to him for winning with 2 years of Majarus' players, but he is terrible with his own guys.

He is known for having teams that play very tough defense, the last 2 years that is
what I see is so poor.

Rumor has Jim Crews stepping down @ the end of the season. I'm not sure if any high profile college coaches would have interest in the St. Louis University position. My guess is one of the asst. coaches, ball boy or video dudes @ Purdue will have interest even if there are not up to task for this position.

Ask Missouri State how that has turned out... :(

Southeast Missouri's Rick Ray was doing something @ Purdue when he was hired @ Mississippi State, two years latter Rick is @ SEMO. If this keeps up, Universities will be looking elsewhere for coaches.

Metro, would a local high school coach, like a Corey Frazier or Justin Tatum be interested in coaching college ball?

Better yet, is SLU interested in taking Kim Anderson off Mizzou's hands?

Both Cory Frazier and Justin Tatum played @ St. Louis University and both would be excellent college coaches. I have talked with Cory Frazier concerning coaching in college, Cory told me a few years ago, some day this will happen. Cory has coached the advanced players in AAU basketball which will help him when his day arrives.

There is little doubt about Justin Tatum and his ability to coach basketball. Justin would make an ideal asst coach @ St. Louis university and move into a college head coach in the near future. Nothing against Cory Tate an asst coach @ Missouri but Justin Tatum was my pick to help Kim Anderson.

If the heat is on Kim Anderson @ Missouri, I believe Kim Anderson would do well @ St. Louis University if Justin Tatum was his asst coach. Justin could take over when Kim retires. Maybe or maybe not but something must happen soon @ St. Louis University.

Who would want the St. Louis University head coaching position other then one of those Purdue asst?
How do these teams ever find coaches by that logic.

SLU pays more than the OVC or the head assistant at Purdue, for one. Dunno what crews makes but they were backing up the truck for his predecessor.

Second people have won there before and the arena is great. You could do worse.

Please name a worthy college coach who would have interest in the St. Louis University position? I'm not sure what the pay would be for the SLU position. When hall of fame coach Rich Majerus was hired, money came in from an outside source ( Chaifetz ). I'm not sure if this outside source will step up again but if he does, a successful and worthy college coach could move to St. Louis and be well rewarded for his move. Anyone out there thinks Mr. Chaifetz will get involved in hiring a new coach @ SLU if this position opens?

it's not impossible that someone steps up.

"worthy" is all relative. SLU isn't a top 50 job it's probably top 150 in terms of resources and facilities. They can afford almost any low D-1 coach or mid/high D-1 assistant.

St. Louis University was a top 20 team in coach Rick Majerus's final year of his five year contract. It will take lot's of money to get another Majerus like coach. Some SLU fans say the Bills could be a top 25 teams again with the right top level coach. The facts show that recruiting is more important then coaching. Let's take a look @ the Kentucky @ LSU game played last night. How did LSU easily defeat Kentucky? Was it the coaching or better players plus Ben Simmons? The facts show it was better players. How can SLU attract better players? It's gotta be a high level college coach with a reputation of winning and that will take " Money ". Will Mr. Chaifetz ante up again?

Realistically, recruiting is awfully important, and SLU has to get better at it. It's the #1 reason why Crews is going to be let go.

They don't necessarily need Majerus but they have to bring some better players in. SLU probably isn't a top 25 type of school in the long run. But they can at least be .500 in the A-10 on a regular basis and keep the crowd entertained.
