1st half stats

Ruskin
160 yards
Rushing: 21 for 119
Passing: 2-6 for 51
3x in red zone

SV
179 yards
Rushing: 7 for 33
Passing: 10-15 for 146

Had to rely on those fundamentals to stop the Blue Eagles from scoring on all those trips to the red zone.

We are in "vanilla" mode. I read nothing into these four weeks and include Grandview, a nice Sub Blue and C4 darkhorse, in that.

I stand by the fact once again. Stats are for losers. Having said that, if you want to dive into the stats of this game. Ruskin had a better defensive showing than Kearney did against the Warriors.......

I digress, this was not a good game for Smithville

These are hard to prep for. Smithville and Kearney both have four overmatched opponents after the Hwy 92 wars this is not a surprise. Kearney played better at Excelsior due to having QB1 and their top LB back. Again these next three will tell us next to nothing UNLESS, God forbid, either or both teams are hit by key injuries.

You are absolutely correct Joey, not the best game for Smithville. If they play like that in Districts, they will not be going very far. Sounds like the players enjoyed the big win over Kearney the week before, and didn't get focused for Ruskin. The defense needs to do a better job of stopping the run, as this is a key come November. I'm sure Ambro and staff will have a game plan to get them ready for that time of year. Coaches can't put on the helmets, the players will need step it up.

Stats? DId you watch it? The stats only back up the reality that SV gave up 160 yards and three trips to the red zone to the Ruskin Golden Eagles IN THE FIRST HALF. WTF? Watch it and then make a comment.

Looks like I hit a nerve.... Question the use of stats then proceed to use stats? I'm confused. I watched this and several other games, overall a good Friday night last week. Have a wonderful day, I hope you can find a way to be happy again soon
