You want to fix 75% of young Americans problems? Someone should propose legislation that bans anyone under the age of 18 from owning or operating a smartphone.

Bullying rates, teen suicide rates, teen criminality, car accident rates involving teens would all drop significantly.

And that doesnt mean teenagers cant have a phone, they can have a flip phone with no camera and no internet connection when they're 16. Before that they really dont need it and more and more studies are showing they aren't equipped to deal with them.

I'm not for big government, but given that government isn't going anywhere they should legislate for something that would have a positive net impact.

I still remember my source of communication while cruising on Friday and Saturday nights was my Midland CB radio....

Yeah that's a shame.
It has always been ridiculous to allow people 21 and over to be allowed to text and drive. NO one can text and drive safely but I'll guarantee you young folks could most certainly do it better the older crowd. I don't see the big deal with talking on a phone while driving. What parents don't talk to someone inside their car and yell at kids in the back seat and feel the need to turn around to yell at them. If we ban talking on a phone while driving we should absolutely ban eating while driving, that's much harder to do and more distracting than talking on a phone.
