Yes Chaminade won 102-84 but the Sikeston Bulldogs never quit. They played hard til the end. Chaminade has so much size and play like a college team. Chaminade was 13 for 27 from the 3-point line and a ton of 2-point fast breaks. Sikeston's sophomore center played great with 20 points the first half. Jones played well and Fred had a good game as well, in fact all Sikeston players had a good game. The coaches and their staff from both teams did great.

Neither Sikeston or Chaminade were effective with their press. Chaminade very seldom makes outlet passes on defensive rebounds. Chaminade used what we call " Bust out . That's when the rebounder is the point man on the break with everyone else filling lanes. If the point man was stopped, he kicked it out for a 3-pointer and they were on from outside tonight. In fact 13-27 from the 3-point line.

Sikeston is a young team and could be factor in the class 4 state play offs this year with this never quit type of game. Sikeston is very good now but the future is off the charts. I'm glad this game was scheduled and I was in attendance to see for myself how good both of these teams really are.

I was able to meet Rocket and his wife tonight, what a nice family. My wife, myself, A former friend from SEMO and a friend from Europe cheered for the Bulldogs and had a good time.

Cape Central was defeated @ DeSmet 51-50 tonight.

Pretty good assessment, metro. The Dogs didn't quit, but were seriously "out personneled." Chaminade is not just huge, but they are all so skilled. Their 6'7" and 6'8" players handled the ball like guards. And they all can flat shoot it. Very impressive.... They just whip the ball around and get the defense moving from side to side and their guards are so quick and strong they were able to get dribble penetration which just broke down the zone and allowed for a lot of open looks....which they knocked down.

13 of 27 from behind the arc? It seemed like 13 of 14! I don't remember them missing that much. Ha!

It was good to meet you as well, metro. We enjoyed our visit. I hope we get to see you in Columbia. We will have our hands full getting there...
