Sikeston over Jennings 79-70......

Sikeston held a 20 lead throughout most of the game Jennings made a nice run late in the 4 th

Thanks, Train for posting the score of the Jennings @ Sikeston game tonight. This will be great momentum going into Class 4 district 1. I can not see anyone in district 1 and the sectional who can defeat the number 1 seed.

Could someone give details of the game?

Sikeston controlled the game for 3 1/2 quarters and lead by 20+. Jennings, went into desperation mode and turned up the intensity and aggressiveness on the defensive end. In my biased opinion, I thought Jennings got away with a lot of reaches and fouls, but that's no excuse. Sikeston turned it over late, but the outcome was never in jeopardy. Hats off to Jennings...they never quit. The Dogs didn't handle the pressure the best, but I also don't think we shot the ball at our normal percentage either. All in all, it was a very good W by a very good Sikeston team against a very good Jennings team. The St Louis teams better look out for Jennings...they are going to give someone fits.

As a side note, Fred Thatch scored his 1,000th career point tonight....as a sophomore.

Rocket, Pressure teams " Do not like to be pressed:?

Jennings competes in class 4 district 6--The top teams are Jennings and Riverview Gardens. Three players from Riverview were granted eligibility @ the start of the second semester. Riverview has won 10 of 11 games with the new players ( 6'9" and 6'7" ) Riverview also has Kyle Moore 6'7" who is recruited by St. Louis University and others ) The one lost was @ the hands of class 5 Hazelwood Central ( big and talented ) by 2 points. Normandy will host class 4 district 6. I believe Riverview will be the favorite to win district 6.

The district 6 winner will play district 5. This is a loaded district with Vashon, Miller Career and St. Mary's as the top 3 teams. I would make Jennings a long shot to defeat Riverview and then defeat the winner of class 4 district 5 ( Probably Vashon but Miller Career could pull the upset.
