Should SEC expand?

Interesting article... not saying it should or should not happen, but agree with it or disagree, it would make for some interesting matchups.

As the bigbevo is finding out, the pickin's are slim now. Their 'adds' aren't very attractive honestly.

I think the SEC holds pat.

Best quote:

"That's $515 million in total, about $37 million per member school. No other conference is in the SEC's universe in per school revenue."

Actually agree cow. But that is what held it up before, OU was not going to go without the Pokes..... I dont actually agree with that philosophy.
As far as not being attractive.. that is typical Veer being Veer. Oklahoma, love them or hate them, without strings, would be attractive to any conference in the Nation. Texas would be too.

I meant the Jabronis your conference is adding. OU brings no TV sets. I don't care about tradition it's about money plain and simple.

OU been flirting with leaving forever. For some reason they haven't and that's probably a matter of opinion.

When (not if) the SEC expands it will be a Virginia school, and a North Carolina school.

Oklahoma has a national following and brings plenty of sets. But you already know this.
They don't have the TV sets.
And you know this.
OU would struggle in the SEC imo. Better be careful what you wish for. OU got decent bowl games last two years and got BLASTED after playing a JV schedule.

Look at Mizzou last year. Terrible but still managed to beat a BYU team that beat nubs. The SEC is a TOUGH conference. Even vandy has probably the best defensive coach in America. Plus the physicality is evident ever week. OU don't want none of that. They don't have the depth.

Yeah, Oklahoma fans nationwide dont have televisions... funny dude

decent bowl game?... they were in the playoff, a little more than decent

got blasted? You know they led at the half, right?
JV schedule? really? I suppose they have a JV schedule again this year, In addition to the league, they are playing Houston and Ohio State... two top teams from last year... not many have the nerve to schedule like that outside their league..
Never said I necessarily wanted them to join... just said it was an interesting article and would make for some interesting matchups...
Struggle?... No doubt you would think that.. Sooners have won their last THREE against the SEC including beating your flagship school.
Would they win the league every year? NO.. Would they dominate the league the way they have the Big XII under Stoops? NO.. Would they contend and win their share of titles... YOU BET !!!!!

I dont think you understand how TV money works.

Football is a 4 quarter sport. They got blasted.
What was OU's best win last year? Tennessee ? Alabama, 3rd place in SEC, was your best win since 2000. What's that tell you?

OU doesn't have the hosses up front to compete weekly in the SEC. You can do whatever against NewWAC defenses but they actually D up in the SEC.

Blasted?... Really?... okay....

You honestly think Alabama was the third best team in the SEC that year?... They were most likely the best.. only game they lost was the KICK-SIX game to Auburn. They were Division Co-Champs and far better than any team in the East.

But if all this spewing makes you sleep better, go ahead...

Then again, I can understand why you dont want OU in the SEC... its pretty simple.. Its easy to say how much better your boys are when you dont have to play.. if they went back to playing you would have to go back to living for that ONCE A DECADE moment.

My points remain. 37-17 after leading at half? You got blasted. The year before? 40-6. You got your superbowl over bama the year before that....A&M beat you 41-13 before that.

I know you understand how playing in a physical conference can lead to bad injury if your depth isn't good. SEC is old man football not newWAC.

Frankly OU (and bigbevo) isn't churning out NFL talent like they used to. On the other hand Mizzou cranks out higher picks now . Talent level is much closer. Look at the 2015 draft for evidence. Defensively OU isn't close IMO. Hopefully Mizzou's new O line coach knows what he's doing.

I'd like to see the first few years of Boomer in SEC. That'd be funny.

Mizzou really shined last year Veer. I bet you're really excited about this season.

when MIZZOU turns out three of the first four picks and the conference they are in has all four of the first picks... then talk...

but lets just talk about consistency of turning out draft picks... Oklahoma is one of only two schools in the nation that have had at least FOUR players drafted EVERY year since 2008. Big shock, your boys are not the other one.

As far as being funny trying to see Oklahoma compete...... OU dominates MIZZOU... MIZZOU goes to SEC, you have no problem saying that they competed almost immediately, but if OU moved over they would not be able to.... that makes absolutely no sense. Oh wait,,, we are talking about veer logic here.... so, alright.

I think OU would do fine in the SEC and would win Mizzou's division with regularity and I really don't like OU

A lot of you don't understand Grant of Rights. SEC is not expanding due to the fact that no school in power 5 conferences are available right now.

Mizzou was a lot better up front than Boomer when they went SEC.
