Smart strategy if you wanna look at it that way. No reason to get anyone hurt in a game you’re going to lose.
But I hope it’s not true, cause that would mean giving up before it’s even started.
Lamar sat several players because of injury. Wilkerson, the quarterback has had hamstring problems all season. He has only played a few plays, mainly on offense in passing situations. The backup quarterback sat out due to injury.. The top running back missed all of last year and has had nagging injuries the past couple of weeks. Another starting running back sat out because of injury. The top wide receiver broke a bone in his wrist in week 8 and will also miss basketball. The best defensive lineman sat out after getting dinged up in week 8. All of these players also play both ways, so it is a big loss on both sides of the ball. All of these players, should be back ready to go for districts. Wilkerson, is still questinable.
And, yes, Seneca would probably have won the game even if Lamar had been healthy. It just wouldn't have been as bad.

In view of Lamar making a class 2 run, it was very wise of the hurt players and coaching staff. From a Lamar fan, I hope Seneca wins a class 3 championship.
Blair Oaks hasn't shown any weakness this year. I don't know about their injuries. I would love to see a Seneca vs. Blair Oaks match up.
I just mean if they are going to win state, this is their year. I’m sure BO isn’t NO pushover. Not even in the slightest.
Injuries will be tough to overcome. Lose two All-State skill players, from my understanding both will be out the rest of the year. But I still wouldn't bet against them. I think they can still get to the title game and this one would have all the makings of a great game.
