So we have another CFB team in Missouri having one heck of a year. SEMO won their first home FCS playoff game yesterday in front of a boisterous crowd in Cape Girardeau 28-14 over a physical Stony Brook University team out of NY.

They travel this week to Ogen Utah in the second round to play #2 ranked Weber State. SEMO has one of the best turnover ratios in the country.

Semo's offense is coordinated by former North County All-State QB and long time North County head coach Jeromy McDowell.

I hope McDowell continues to climb the coaching ladder. He has done a great job. I still say he was one of the best hs qb’s I ever saw. Very underrated when you see the “top MO hs qb” type polls and lists.

Haven't seen them play. What kind of offense do they run Duck?

They had one winning season from 2003 to this year (9-3 in 2010) and mostly won 2-3 games during that stretch.

Impressive turnaround.

Someone should figure out how they did it and send Missouri State a note.

They are a spread team and they have a super running back, Marquis Terry, an NFL prospect at left tackle, Drew Forbes and their QB Daniel Santacaterina started last year at Northern Illinois before transferring in. He is super smart and seldom turns the ball over.

Their defense is strong up front and creates a lot of turnovers. They will be on ESPN 3 Saturday but it will be tough playing a well rested #2 seed. Weather expected is 35 degrees with snow.
