PENNEY @ Valle might be the most interesting game of the week. Helluva drive that's for sure.
lol can you even get there from here? Over to St Louis and then south I suppose lol. Should be a great game, hope someone will be streaming it so I can listen

No, I think between Hamilton and Ste. Genevieve, it is impassible mountains and rivers. They may just have to cancel and give the championship to the winner of Monroe City and Lincoln.

Same Reason Maryviile going to St Louis. Miller Career Academy had first round bye.

If you read mshsaa handbook it dont consider week 10 as part of playoffs because schools playing share and keep gate. but for number of home games hosted in playoffs it does.

Still looks to me like a double bonus for a team that receives a bye. Get a free pass to the next round and pretty much guaranteed to host a quarter final and/or a semi final.

Battle is traveling?? Maybe I'm missing, but has FZN really hosted less playoff games than them? Battles only been open for 3 years

Yeah, there is a lot of travel- and at visiting schools' expense, and the parents/ fans' expense. For a semi-final game. At least they changed to this format, so that (whatever reasons they changed it for, I never heard). I know we shouldn't question things, because this is how basketball does it.

If Hayti would've advanced through the district final and won the QF game, the Indians would've traveled to Hamilton. Hayti is 131 miles from exit 19 on Interstate 55 to the first Ste. Genevieve exit at exit 150. That trip to Hamilton would've been over 430 miles.

Just imagine if Maryville and Kennett ever match up in the semis. That is a haul!

Webb City has had to travel over 3,000 miles. That's for championship games though, not semi-finals.

Longest trip I've made for a semifinal game has been from Adrian to Perryville... twice... both losses. 359 miles according to google maps.

I think people forget how big of a state Missouri really is. I once drove from Maryville to Florence, Alabama (actually 3 times).
Well over 50% of our trip was in Missouri.

I believe tarkio played Valle for state one year wayyyyyy back when. If it wasn't for a neutral location, would have been a 413 mile trip.

Just imagine if tarkio or rock port would have ever had to play Hayti in the playoffs back then...
541 miles.

When you fly from KC to Atlanta, about half the flight is over Missouri.
