Either this guy is a typical arrogant Deadbird a$$ for throwing beer on people below....or he is a Deadbird moron that wasted a perfectly good and costly beer.

Moniker given to the fans by everybody but the fans. Granted a select few will preach it, but they're idiots. Lets not pretend players haven't preached this a time or two.Originally posted by wccards21:

Have you ever been to Wrigley? I have a handful of times in the past. I had a friend that was going to the arts school in downtown Chicago. She lived off of Addison and Lakeshore. Could walk out her door and see Wrigley. That place is nothing but a social point for the hipsters and well-off of Chicago. 90% of the stadium has no idea what is going on with the game.
We had a similar time - it's known as the '70s. Still, we never occupied the basement so I really have no frame of reference to what you speak of.Originally posted by longestyard:
They support their team during the most trying times. If the Deadbirds had a streak like the Cubs do, the stadium would be empty, or move to Arizona or New Mexico or something.

If only the Cubs could play the Deadbirds more often they could be a playoff contender. They lead the overall series going into this year: 1,180?1,126, with 19 ties.
1. Until recently the Blackhawks were not that great, granted the Blues are the Cubs of Hockey. So when they use that as their stepping stone are they like KU fans? And the Rams haven't been good, but still have a more recent Super Bowl than the bears.Originally posted by longestyard:
You guys must all be KU fans too. That is the same type of arguments I hear from that side of the border.
Pretty similar being a Tiger fan to KU, as being a Cubs fan to the Deadbirds if you think about it.
"how many titles have you won??"
"Wait til baseball season!!" Our city has one major sport!
"head-to-head means nothing, if you eliminate the time period when your team was hot!"
And then there is how professional the Deadbird organization acted in the last two games of 1985. Let's blame 4 losses on a call at first base against a guy that never made it passed second base. Classy. And so are all of the paintings of The Call all over town still. Of course you guys seem to forget the 4th inning of that game. Frank White stole second base when it was scoreless, but was called out. Replays later showed that White had been safe, and the following batter, Pat Sheridan, hit a single into the outfield that would otherwise have scored the run. That must make you guys really proud to still be complaining about one call from 30 years ago over a series you didn't deserve to win anyway. Wasn't that the worst BA in Series history??
Whats the point??? I thought we were talking Cubs and Cards. Cub fans have nothing. They have nothing on the Cards. And that eats at them.Originally posted by wccards21:
And you total the Deadbirds up twice....and Yankees still have more
The Yankees have lost more than the Deadbirds have won
Nationals/Expos and Mariners have never been
Astros, Rockies, Padres, Rangers, Rays and Brewers have never won
What's your point? We just wanting to do math?
That is my point. You sound just like KU fans.Originally posted by Drop.Tine:

2. If you want to include the 1901 season, I could careless. But lets not act like the Cubs are anything close to the cards since 2000(well maybe since the 40's).
Cubs have three playoff series wins since 1980. THREE. All resulting in a loss in the NLCS. THEY HAVE ZERO FROM 1985 TO 1945.
WHAT IS YOUR POINT????
Is there much of a debate?Originally posted by vbsideout:
I like the Yankees so what is your point. I will assume you changed from Cubs to all other teams as a sign of defeat in the Cards vs Cubs debate!!
I'll take losing to the Cubbies more times than not over not winning a dang playoff series. Cards have more playoff series wins in the last 5 years than the cubs have in the last 70.Originally posted by wccards21:
There really isn't a debate when you look at the teams head to head
Ohhhhh wait... You guys again will decide which decades to throw out, because it just eats at you that the Cubs have a winning record in the rivalry. So you'll sit here and say "the deadbirds had a bad start to their organization.....the 70s were bad"....but then you'll turn right around and say the Cubs have been awful for over 100 years.
YOU'VE HAD 100 YEARS TO BEAT THEM! WHY CANT YOUIt's like we are discussing college football with Veer
Holy crap, dude. You are the one that brought up the Blackhawks and the Bears, not me.Originally posted by Drop.Tine:
WE WERE TALKING ABOUT BASEBALL.
We weren't comparing towns on football or basketball or hockey. WE WERE TALKING BASEBALL. And when we compare the two, STL is better than the Cubbies. NOT EVEN CLOSE. You sound like an MU fan when basketball is brought up with a KU fan, "yeah well, wait until football season."
