Plucky 7on7 type of finesse team in St. Pius X taking on Rock.

Result:
Rock 6.44 yards per carry
St. Pius 2.14 yards per carry

The turnovers by Rock added to the intrigue and made it seem close. But pretty dominant performance by Rock.

First Half
Rock 106 Rushing 62 passing
SP 14 Rushing and 109 passing. Pius stuffed entirely on the run in the first half.

Second Half
Rock 126 Rushing 92 Passing
SP 44 Rushing 59 Passing.

I think this will turn out to be a very good experience for Pius. Moving all the way up to C5 it gives them a taste of what it will take to succeed vs. the top teams in that class talent rich as they are this year.

Just get the big bodies recruited over there for the next few years and they should be okay. Need linemen.

From this past week, I think they will not get by Fort or Platte County. They will not be able to run on Fort or Platte County either. Effectively running the ball and stopping others from running the ball is why.

Fort's run D is the REAL DEAL especially #7. That kid was absolutely flying all over that field last Friday night. Put him together with Kearney's #4 and #19 you likely have the best LB corps in all MO never mind class!

Valle had the same bitter taste, what's good for the goose is good for the gander

Somehow Kearney ekked out 5 yards a carry on Fort. That was a battle.
It takes a day or two to truly digest any of these games in my opinion but gonna just go back to what one former Chiefs player who was covering the 2009 Kearney-Fort O game said on the 810 WHB scoreboard show on my way home: Every team that plays these two better strap it up!

I really also think they are getting players we would have seen at schools like Staley back in their glory years..................
Pius is taking from all the northland schools....through their other sports like wrestling. I thin Pius is recruiting well in some areas but the lineman battle will always be an issue. Skill wise Pius is recruiting it seems like very well from school like Liberty, Liberty North, and Staley. Heck even a few years ago they had top baseball players from Staley and Smithville on their rosters. Pius could make a run in Class 4 this year, but C5 will be a gambit.
