The head coach from Cuba?
yes, in paper said he coached at cuba, can't remember the name, may not have been this last season
Jim Wolfe. He was Head coach for several years at Cuba until this past season. He was fired as head coach at the end of the 2014 season. It was a big issue that divided the community and from what I'm told is still a sensitive subject. Board voted against administrations recommendation to keep him. They were swayed by some over zealous parents. Result: Cuba went 0-10 this past season and had very low numbers.
Does Savannah know what they are getting into? I see why they fired him. Here are some numbers:
2015 0-10
2014 4-7
2013 2-8
2012 1-9
2011 3-7
2010 7-5
I stopped there because that was the last winning season at Cuba.
Let be honest here... Cuba is not a hot bed of football talent. The biggest issue is the better athletes play basketball and baseball. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future that program folds altogether because their numbers get smaller every year.
