I guess getting kicked off of Dancing with the Stars was more than he could take. You would have thought he could have done better than week 4.

End of his football career no doubt

Right or wrong his career ended when he came out.

Is it a matter of realizing he would never make it in the NFL? He has not made any comments has he?

But coming out is not WHY his career ended...

He ran a dismal 40 at the combine, and even after that (and even after coming out) he was still drafted by the Rams (only to be cut, and even after being cut, he was given an opportunity on the Cowboys' practice squad only to be cut again...)

...and now's he's quitting the CFL of his own accord (face it; he just can't hack it...)

“All I know is I heard somebody made a comment about him, about how he wasn’t very good and wasn’t having a very good camp,” the person said. “He took it personally and was pouting in his room. It’s very strange. I have no idea what’s going on. He might have a personal issue.”

Obviously a top 15 college coach got more out of him than NFL or CFL coaches could.:D

Everybody in the program and CoMo already knew...it was going to come out nationally at the combine. He wanted to come out himself...not some rumor in an article. He's not the first football player to have personal issues and quit....nor will he be the last. He's not a thief, criminal, physically abusive to others like many players....people want to root against him cuz he's gay. Seems that should be the least of people's worries compared to others.

not the first player to dominate in college and not the NFL.. Hardly has anything to do with college coaching.... (or maybe it does. You are the guy that considers Bradford to be the biggest bust in the NFL... He won a Heisman under Stoops, must be a great coach) :)

Touche'. Stoops is the man because Bradford has the leadership skills of a 7th grader.

Didn't he receive some type of SEC recognition?
...and Tim Tebow won the Heisman; college excellence is not an indicator of NFL excellence (there are only 8 Heisman trophy winners in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and none of them are QBs...)

Since 1950, 27 quarterbacks have been selected as the Heisman Trophy winner. Of those 27, only 20 started at quarterback in at least one NFL game. Among those 20, only four quarterbacks have a winning record in the NFL (regular season). Of all people, Robert Griffin III is the only Heisman winner with a career passer rating over 90 in the NFL (90.8). Since 1950, the combined NFL winning percentage for quarterbacks who won the Heisman Trophy is under .500 (480-501-4, .489).

I know Sam is not a QB or a Heisman trophy winner, but QB and Heisman stats were easy to find (I've linked a list of all SEC DPOYs since 2003, if you want to look for yourself; Chad Lavalais of LSU likewise got drafted only to be cut and then picked up by a practice squad and cut again...)

And stop with the "people only think Sam's no good because he's gay" crap (those who are saying it)! Would the Texans start looking for ways to black-ball and cut JJ Watt if he came out??? Sam would be playing if he were good enough; this latest story shows that he's not only not good enough, but he's also a quitter (and probably now looking for his next fifteen minutes somewhere else...)

Don't be so bossy and hateful, and learn sarcasm.

Comparing Sam to Bradford and Tebow is ridiculous. Last time I checked, both Bradford and Tebow were currently on NFL rosters and both had played in several seasons. Sam has not made a roster or a season. Maybe a more fair comparison is Maurice Clarett who was drafted and never made it.

It was more of a coach thin from previous posts. There is no comparison
