...and Tim Tebow won the Heisman; college excellence is not an indicator of NFL excellence (there are only 8 Heisman trophy winners in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and none of them are QBs...)
Since 1950, 27 quarterbacks have been selected as the Heisman Trophy winner. Of those 27, only 20 started at quarterback in at least one NFL game. Among those 20, only four quarterbacks have a winning record in the NFL (regular season). Of all people, Robert Griffin III is the only Heisman winner with a career passer rating over 90 in the NFL (90.8). Since 1950, the combined NFL winning percentage for quarterbacks who won the Heisman Trophy is under .500 (480-501-4, .489).
I know Sam is not a QB or a Heisman trophy winner, but QB and Heisman stats were easy to find (I've linked a list of all SEC DPOYs since 2003, if you want to look for yourself; Chad Lavalais of LSU likewise got drafted only to be cut and then picked up by a practice squad and cut again...)

And stop with the "people only think Sam's no good because he's gay" crap (those who are saying it)! Would the Texans start looking for ways to black-ball and cut JJ Watt if he came out??? Sam would be playing if he were good enough; this latest story shows that he's not only not good enough, but he's also a quitter (and probably now looking for his next fifteen minutes somewhere else...)
