Eagles were shut out by St. Joe Central and barely beat KC East................K will no doubt win but WOW.

K keeps rotating QBs when it is so obvious who the #1 should be......................just saying.

56-0 Lincoln Prep over East at half...................K does lead 30-14 but should never have been a contest. Sorry again but WOW never gave this one a thought.

When they made the change in Game 1, they should have stuck with that move - and kept him off D (where he was injured in game 2), and special teams. I don't see the W over Tonka, unless there is significant improvement.

You never know week to week BUT given this 30-20 halftime score and how sloppy and disorganized they look BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL I would agree. Tonka will come steaming in 5 and 0, too.

THIS really is why I have come to the conclusion we need a change at the top...............but it is a bit of an asterisk season so far. Just expect the team to look far more organized and efficient.

There are 3 kids quarantined (from a positive Smithville player) - but that shouldn't result in a close game against Ruskin. As down of a season as it has been, I still expected them to turbo Ruskin.

That figures. Not going into the politics..................tempted as this scientist is.

Another surprise in the Northland: NKC defeats Platte County 42-37. Blue Division very much up for grabs between Smithville, Platte County, and Winnetonka, all who have yet to face each other this season.

NKC was smarting from that shocking loss to Fort O who is VERY VERY young this year. Gonna get A or B from them..............look what happened to them at Raytown tonight.

Ruskin yes. Got shut out by St.Joe Central and barely beat East last week.

heck, with the 8th & 9th graders that joey's been blowing about, those kids should shut out Ruskin.

Ruskin is not traditionally a very strong ball club are they?

That's an understatement. It looked like Ruskin was trying to figure out new ways for Kearney to score....

Ruskin is not traditionally a very strong ball club are they? I am surprised they gave the bulldogs a scare.
Looks like they ran it up after half. Tsk tsk tsk
Carney rip
Now the knowitalls will come on here bashing coaches. Jones left for more than the money.

It was essentially the first quarter then K did give up a head scratching TD drive right before half. Second half they did come out with some attitude and rolled them..................as expected. Next up will be probably their #1 challenge of the season: road tilt at Grain Valley.

Some of what has happened at Ruskin mystifies me because they absorbed Hickman Mills (man do I miss them!). I thought that would make the Eagles very competitive but the opposite has happened.

On the Jones front that was pure economics. A very good, upward move on his part. I said that back in 2017 when all the controversy was brewing over him leaving KTown. Liberty North broke through last night..............if we have playoffs WATCH them. Jones teams tend to be FAR more dangerous coming into them with a loss or two (2009 and 2015 are great examples).

Hell of an assumption, especially since straight from his mouth, it was more than economics.
Well he was treated beyond well in Kearney and was always very appreciative so not sure where you are leading with this. We are very passionate fans. Spoiled? Sure...............four titles will do that to you. Still doesn't change my OPINION based on what I see on the field these days.

Jones stays and has roughly the same results (even if they were slightly better than Gray's) and his legacy is totally different. He knew what was coming up and made a push to move up. If he was going to win two or three more titles at Kearney, he would still be there winning them. He could have left for the money sooner, but there were still rounds left in the mag.

2018 had a very strong roster. Just my 2 cents but I still feel that team really underachieved. Trust me I get coaching is a profession and these guys are very loyal to one another (and should be). I've just never been sold on the current staff...................just an opinion, everyone. Ultimately it is up to the school administration if they want to make a change. I just point out some things (remember I am a scientific professional so am very detail oriented) that give me cause for concern. Again I've been pretty adamant about the fact I sure don't have the ANSWERS just OPINIONS.

I like and respect O Line. He is one of the top posters on this site..............I think we just diverge on the KTown HC issue. Also love to remind everyone I am just some fan with opinions NOT any kind of "insider" or "expert". Got a very positive story nobody on this site is talking about................YET that is happening in SWMO coming right up!
