The brackets are up on MSHSAA. The districts aren't labeled, but knowing which class 1 districts have 7 teams, it appears the semifinals will be rotated this year. Districts 1 and 2 will still face off in quarterfinals, but will play the winners of districts 5 and 6 in the semifinals. Districts 3 and 4 will play Districts 7 and 8 in the other semifinal.

Changes some things in regards to dome chances.

Class 4 could be (probably will be) an all-west-side of the state final.
Class 2 Lamar will play EB/Brookfield/Lafayette/Bishop in the semis.

Here's a link to the Class 1 bracket that shows District 2 with 7 teams...and notice on the other half is districts 3 and 4 with 7 teams as well.

It looks like the chart is a work in progress. The dates and times for Games 13 and 14 are incorrect (at least according to the 2015 football manual).

Even if it's not, the thread needs this...

As far as the point of this, all I can say is that with as dominant as some teams have been(in classes 1, 2, and 4 the last 4-5 years, they're trying to give the teams that weren't good enough to get to the dome, a shot at getting to the dome by beating someone weaker on the other side of the bracket.

To me its exciting. Idk how many times ive seen the class 4 semifinal game when it was obviously the 2 best teams left

But how is this going to change anything??? The two best class 4 teams could be Webb and Cape and now they would meet in the semis instead of the dome. Unless they wait until the week before the semifinals and rank the teams then have 1-4 play and 2-3 play it won't matter at all

The semifinals have long been rotated in basketball, baseball, soccer, and softball. Even in wrestling the brackets are changed each year in every weight class. Football is just joining the group now. I think it makes sense. Sure, some years the "true" state championship game will occur in the semifinals, but that's unavoidable in my mind.
Seeding the semifinals will likely never happen, and would be a nightmare to do it with probably only occasionally, and maybe never, any common opponents. It would be quite the undertaking to do that and to do it fairly without just going off record alone.

The number one and two ranked teams in the state in class 4 are in the same district. State championship game could very well be played in Webb when CJ comes to town for the district championship game

Fix that then you have something
