Does anyone know how Rolla is able to livestream this playoff game for free on youtube? Has MSHSAA changed their policy on allowing streams or did it slip through the cracks somehow?

Man here’s the thing: everyone that want to broadcast the game should just broadcast the game and force MSHSAA to send you the bill or chase you down.

If everyone just did it there’s no way MSHSAA could do anything about it and they would just change the way they are doing business.

The only place they can really stop this is at their actual championships where they have control of the venue and staff in place.

I'm not a lawyer but I would like to see someone challenge this in court. It would seem to me that an association like MSHSAA would have a difficult time adjudicating whether or not they have the exclusive broadcast rights of a high school sporting event.

So we could not get the system from MSHSAA to work to stream live. The Bolivar stream was able to work but the Rolla feed kept getting disconnected. We tried to get it working using their tech support but they kept saying it was on our end and connection speed. That wasn't the issue from what I can tell. So they turned on our HuDL stream that we send to our YouTube channel to get it out there and I believe MSHSAA then connected to that stream. The bad part is people paid for the streaming service, then had to pay again to log into Boliver's stream of the game.

I streamed last year's district and sectional games on FaceBook and I said the same thing that I think my attorney will be better than their attorned to think they can make even MORE money off my kids games. They are NOT the NCAA. I have zero problems with them streaming the Final 4 where they are organizing, hosting and running the entire event. But when the school are taking care of everything up until then, they have no right.

Rant done!

How did my Falcons beat Rolla?!?!? Has to be one of the more improbable wins Glendale has had since the upset of Kickapoo in 2014. Glendale never trailed and had the lead up to 12-14 a few times. Well, at least I'll have a 'Best Win' game to list, which wasn't looking all that great until we knocked off the Bulldogs. Glendale's other five wins came against teams with a combined record of 21-78.

As far as streaming goes, WHO CARES!! I assume only MSHSAA if they feel "rules" were violated, but I just don't care enough about it to have an opinion.

I was hoping that MSHSAA had finally decided to do something right and changed their policy to let games be streamed so communities could watch their teams and the players get some more exposure. It sounds like it was just a random fluke that it was allowed to be streamed. I should have known better than that though.

That was a tough loss for Rolla for sure. Falcons played extremely well and were confident in their shots. Completely different from the first game of the season when Rolla dominated throughout. Despite how well Glendale played, Rolla lost by 2. I believe Glendale shot 80% from the FT line while Rolla shot around 40%. My son had a big scoring night for Rolla but went 5-9 from the FT line - he was pretty much an 80% career FT shooter. All he could talk about was his FTs being the difference in the game.

That's why Basketball is the greatest sport!

This! A whole freaking lot of this. Amazes me that the schools don't tell MSHSAA to stick their crap.
