Strafford led the entire game until the last minute. I have never seen a game end like that. Strafford was just passing the ball around and time expired. Almost like they didn't know the game was ending.

Strafford gambled a couple of times and left Willow Gideon wide open from 3 twice in a row and she drained both. That cut the lead from 8 to 2. She shoots over 40% from 3 ( as do two other Rolla giris) so she’s not one to leave open in those situations. Pritchett also hit a big 3 for Rolla.

Gideon also had an incredible spin move and layup in the first half. She spun quickly and was still able to keep her balance and score.

6 seconds left and Strafford passed the ball three times after the inbounds and the clock ran out right after the last pass. So yeah I wondered what happened there.

Great game though, both teams played tough D and had to work for what they got.

One of the strangest endings I have ever seen. No sense of urgency or anything. It was literally like they thought they had a 2 pt lead instead of being down by 2pts.

That's a given in every game.
Strafford was called for 16 fouls for the game. Rolla was called for 15. So if “that’s a given” means Strafford is smart enough to NOT foul on shots……..I guess you are right.

14 is not over half of 34 but whatever makes it easier to criticize…. Strafford missed a TON of shots they normall make at a decent percentage. In the final moments, their concentration, coaching and execution was horrible. Played poorly, had their chances, didn’t deserve to win. 2 losses on the year so far… not sad at all.

You said Strafford got to the line 19 times, I just had the total score on the wrong team. If they only hit one 1 free throw each time that would be over half their points. Not critising just stating a fact. But that is sad if they got to the line that many times and still only had 34 points. I'm sure both those teams are better than that games shows.

I never said they got to the line 19 times, basket_ball did. It was 19 attempts…….they hit 14 of them.

Good one. The refs made them look really smart.
They must have used all their smarts with not fouling because having the ball with 34 seconds left and not even getting a shot off did not show the IQ you are claiming they have?
Wow, you must be one of those Rolla parents famous for being so hateful!! Maybe the one that was cussing??What I said Was Strafford played horrible and didn’t deserve to win. Maybe a player got confused or a coach made a mistake. Either way, I said they didn’t deserve to win that game. No need to defend their IQ , they have shown what they can do and your pathetic attitude won’t change that.

Wow- some real sarcastic comments made toward some HS girls, Classy!

Just to be clear, the ball was knocked out of bounds so they failed to get a shot off with 5.8 seconds left

Funny how you can say Strafford is smart enough to NOT foul on shots, Guess that was not a shot at the Rolla players? That was the only reason I brought up the IQ thing and I apologize. Rolla did not play their normal game either. I would admit that Strafford's defense had a lot to do with that. They pressure the heck out of the ball.

It was no shot at Rolla kids at all. They hit shots when it counted. I was responding to ,as you can see on my comment, AAU_bingos comment “that’s a given in every game” insinuating that Strafford is given calls and he based that on the number of free throws that was stated. My point was that Strafford was called for more fouls but shot several more times because they are smart enough to not gamble on blocks constantly. No shot at Rolla, but that’s why Strafford shot so many ft’s , because Rolla attempted so many shot blocks. Strafford is not a shot blocking team and they know that. Appreciate the apology, I’m not offended. I’m not related to a certain person but I’m a fan and acquaintance of Strafford as I am of other schools. Many hate on Strafford out of pure spite and jealousy and it’s obvious on these posts. It gets old and shows the bias and ignorance of many people. Good luck to whoever you support!
