Is the ROCK back? Perhaps. They have rolled since being smoked by Liberty North this season.
This is rough. I don't know at what point in the game that this happened.
That Liberty North home loss really ignited this squad. What I REALLY cannot wait for is Nixa coming calling. That will be one of the least predictable, interesting matchups in this area next weekend!
This happened on the second drive of the game for Rock (but near end of 2Q). A flag was thrown because of PI... Would have placed the ball somewhere around the 20 even if ruled incomplete.. The way Rock moved the ball, it wouldn't have mattered the would have scored and taken another 2 mins off the clock.
Rock would have scored a TD anyway.... And he definitely would have got the ball if the DB hadn't PI'd him anyway (which a flag was thrown for and why likely the catch was missed)
WHO they have beaten indicates the answer is yes. Just like Kearney-Smithville last night ALWAYS pay attention to regular season blowouts that rematch in the post season (big if) Rock and LN do face each other again in the C6 semifinals.
He was playing both sides of the ball. Looked pretty good at defensive end.
LSN played so many teams closer than they should have all season and I had a strong feeling they'd pay for it in the playoffs. Rockhurst has been really good all season with some close victories against other solid teams. LSN had a special team with supposedly the best player in the country and blew it.
Agree they just never looked right after beating Liberty North in their opener.

ROCK got ripped out of a goal line 4th down touchdown as well. Clearly across the line. Cosmic Karma Beaattches.

I heard one ref said incomplete but was overruled with a touchdown call.

The ref threw a flag for interference....then stepped back and signaled incomplete. After a referee conference they came back and said it was a TD.
The ref threw the flag but never signaled anything. There just was a meeting about the play. It seemed like they were going to initially call Incomplete but no ref actually did.
The petition is ridiculous as well. Bad calls happen ( I know this was is a playoff game but there have been many incomplete passes called catches before, including in the end zone, in plenty of games. It unfortunately happens). This was in the 2nd Qtr, they still score and LSN had opportunities to win the game, including being aided by 2 pass interference calls on the last drive
Agreed. The game was lost before and after that particular call. What will the petition change? Nothing. It is hard to be in that position for the Ref as that is the human aspect of the game. It is not always fair on those kids who lost but just from hearing around LSN was bound to lost that game against Rock.
Solution: I think more refs should be attached to crews like baseball does when entering the district championship game through the state playoffs. Video review should be accessible at the state championship games then MSHSAA can give all districts a set up for the district championship through state championship.

How does officiating hierarchy work? I mean, this ref is looking right at a play with unobstructed view to the ball and in no way is that close to resembling a catch. How does he not say to the other official, "No Way I'm letting you call this a touchdown".
This isn't near as bad as Pembroke Hill being given free throws in the district championship 2 years ago for a technical foul called by one ref with 2 seconds left for a Center fan running out onto the opposite end of the court to celebrate early. That one is still mind blowing knowing that an opposing team could pull that off going forward to help their own team (just wear their colors). Center had that game wrapped up and possession when that happened.

I've watched the film...ref crossed his arms and never made TD signal.
