I was there when they beat CJ by 40 in the state title game. Their bench players were college level. If its a joke in Class 6, imagine what it would have looked like in class 4 without the championship factor. Mark that one on the side of MSHSAA doing something right.
I would want my daughter to play AAU during the Summer but for her school team during school even if she was D1. I think she would miss out on a lot not playing with her friends and probably setting a bunch of school records. Before bashing IWA too much, I do believe I remember hearing within the past couple of years that IWA requested MSHSAA put them in the highest class and MSHSAA refused. Does anyone else remember that or am I mistaken?
I believe you are right about only bumping up 2 classes. If schools like IWA keeps winning state championships, it's only right that they should eventually end up in the best class in the state. But in smaller classes, small town public schools have no chance.
I don't fault private schools like IWA that load up on talent. Imagine the competition in practice everyday and how much better each individual girl gets. It's almost a guarantee that every girl can probably play at some level in college. If I had DI prospect daughter, I would want her to go there (on scholarship, oops excuse me, I mean on financial assistance, would be the only way).
But make them play in the biggest class!!
Kearney took them to OT in the semis one year. Caught them on an off night then let them get away then it got ugly in the title game.............IWA was in a smaller class for years. It was pretty much a joke.
This is true lolKearney took them to OT in the semis one year. Caught them on an off night then let them get away then it got ugly in the title game.............
Some day they should form some "super elite" National program tourney and let IWA take their chances in that. Much as I would love to see Blue Springs South or St. Joe Central win C6 just don't see it at all...........This is true lol
In Illinois, New York, California, Texas or Florida so agree! Before bashing IWA too much, I do believe I remember hearing within the past couple of years that IWA requested MSHSAA put them in the highest class and MSHSAA refused. Does anyone else remember that or am I mistaken?

Privates don't recruit though LMAOIt doesn't matter what MSHSAA does now as they have let the recruiting beast turn into the beast it is. Separate public in private. 4 classes in public and 2 in private. I just don't understand the pride factor if you coach at IWA and you recruit kids from every good local public school and then go beat the same schools with their kids.
Its turned into an elite AAU team vs. Public School Teams. No $hit who should win. Within 5 years there will be a Missouri High School Public School League. There are already donors and a board working on it in private. MSHSAA will become as useless as the NCAA...save my post and tell me I was right later
nd they don't give scholarships. It's called financial assistance. LOLPrivates don't recruit though LMAO
