Was at the game and will have highlights out sometime this afternoon. It was 7-7 in the second quarter and I'm thinking this looks like it'll be a very competitive game, quite possibly being a shootout. Then Cardinal Ritter forced five turnovers and scored 34 points in the second quarter. I believe all of the turnovers were five in a row if not then four. There were three straight interceptions, including a pick six on a reverse handoff pass play.
The Lions IMO are heavy favorites to win Class 3. They may not be as speedy as last years team, but they're very well-rounded in the trenches and still solid at wide receiver to go along with superstar quarterback Mekhi Hagens and quality running back Bill Jackson. Their offense is much more balanced and tougher to defend and the defense swarms to the ball so well.
I think Helias is still a pretty good team, but after the second turnover in the second quarter things snowballed from there on out. They got a good offense that'll cause just about any team in Class 4 fits.
Has a team jumped 2 classes the next cycle? Because it looks like that's where they belong.
Not saying that's where they end up, was just curious if it's ever happened. It depends on how MSHSAA structures the thresholds for the new multiplayer for private schools after the season ends. Ritter might not jump 2 classifications. Last year was the first year (going back 5 seasons) that they advanced past Districts. It’ll likely hinge upon if they can get past Lutheran North again, after beating them in Week 2.
I was thinking of Trinity lol.Cardinal Ritter & Maryville dropped to Class 2 Blair Oaks moved up to Class 3.

Whoever wins that district with Cardinal Ritter and Lutheran North will be likely win state since the Crusaders will have all of their transfers ready to play... Sorry to bring that up.
Twice that on single sex student body schools.MSHSAA has never had a multiplier like that before. I mean, there’s been a 1.35 enrollment factor, but that only moved private schools up one classification.

My fell St Louisian we are no longer sorry and giving pity for our transfer detractors lol
Lutheran North's two 4 Star players with Alabama offers were not present for the first RItter game (they actually lost because they got grossly out-coach and waited until the game was way out of hand to run an offense that works past 1970), so the 2nd game should be different.
Like Lutheran North has no running back over 160 pounds and are trying to run a power run scheme. You can hand someone a Ferrari doesnt mean they can drive it.
How’d it look?
Hard to say. Westminster is atrocious. Lutheran North was able to put guys in space and exploit the fact that Westminster had prepared all week to face a Wing. If they mix both schemes in, it’ll be a serious pain in the ass for D Coordinators to plan against on one week’s notice.
Doyle’s a 4 Star ... Ford is a 5 Star.
Archaic Run Heavy Wing/Veer Offenses haven’t stopped Lamar, Webb, Monett, Maryville, etc.
At least, not until last year, that is.
Preparing for a good Wing T team that is also fluent in the spread is absolutely a pain in the ass to do in a week. Ask anyone that's ever had to prepare for Maryville. Get you're panties out of a wad. There you go with the "one weeks notice" again. That must be a STL thing. Since STL teams are always so much better, maybe everyone should condense all specific opponent preparation into the week before a game? I mean it is working for them? All those teams are always so prepared and never ad-lib on the field....
