Wondering how many of yuns have heard this political song that's blown up on the internet in the past week. Listen carefully to the lyrics, I missed some of the references first time. Here's a couple lines I didn't get until reading about the song;

"I wish politicians would look out for miners - as in coal "miners"
and not just minors on an island somewhere." - "minors" as in underage girls and Jeffrey Epstein and human trafficking reference

Love that renewed Appalachian sound like Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, and Tyler Childers!! Hope you enjoy!!

What an imcredible story of Oliver Anthony!! 2 weeks ago he was a nobody, and this week he turned down a $8M record deal and "Rich Men" is expected to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 100 Country songs. Here's his story posted on Facebook yesterday........

I’m afraid you underestimate me. I hate some people who share my views, also.

And no offense, but the man singing the song ain’t exactly Sinatra. I have at least two neighbors with throat cancer who can belt out a tune as good as your lumberjack there.

I hate Sinatra"s music.

Some of our greatest music icons had less than perfect voices - Dylan, Cocker, Janis,

I have not seen a lot about this. I did a quick search and didn't find a lot about liberals having a problem with it. I saw a few things, but not from anyone of significance. So I ask is this a small liberal wing complaining? Is that group the proud boys of the left and if so should we not paint all the liberals with the same brush as we don't paint all the conservatives as proud boys?
It is interesting that it looks like Fox is trying to create an issue by giving the left-wing nuts more consideration than they deserve.

Personally, I like the song, and I am happy for the guy. Especially the ability to turn down that large of a contract. I don't have to like every line of the song to like the song. I do understand why some don't like the part about 300-pounders eating candy or whatever it was don't remember. I didn't think that was necessary, but I am not canceling the guy because of it. If you don't like it don't listen to it. God knows there is enough on Youtube to be able to skip it.

Oh just like can't do that in a small town I pissed off a bunch. I would hate to see the out cry today if Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, david Allan Coe and so many others were writing songs. The 70's and 80's. Country boy can survive. But yet nobody complains about Rap, I cannot stand to listen to the music/rap the kids play in the locker room today, it is disgusting the things the sing about.

Wouldn't it be a boring world if we all listened and liked the same type of music?

Music is the soundtrack of your life. Dick Clark

There is so much great music to listen to. I’ve listened to more since I retired than I did the prior 30+ years. I did not like country in my teen years, but I love those old songs now. Newer country—not so much. But there is great rock from every generation.

Not just playing it, but asking a question about it. Who is making something out of this song? It ain't the liberals, conservatives are ginning up outrages.

The song is about the common man's anger against all rich Washington politicians, both liberal and conservative, and the hopelessness of the working class. He absolutely doesn't want any politician using it as their theme music.

HE said it's about GOP Presidential candidates!
