Republic 59 Strafford 53 final

I can spell her name but Bekermier fouled out with 5:30 to go and Republic still won.
Strafford gave them a good battle, they were down by around 15 in the first half and came back, even had the lead briefly. Bekemeier fouling out opened the door for Strafford but Repmo has plenty of other good and experienced players and they pulled it out. Kudos to Strafford for giving one of the best teams in the area a battle, especially with three new starters, and at least two of those and maybe all three have either no varsity or very limited varsity experience. Republic has four of their starters back from last yr and this was class 3 vs class 6.
On that note, anyone know what happened with the Rylin Finley girl who played for Repmo the last two seasons? She was a big, pretty good player, started last season for them as well as part of her freshman season. She must have moved or isn’t playing.

She is not playing. She is a good volleyball player.
I wasn't impressed with Republic. Their point guard is good and K.Beck is great but the other 3 starters looked average at best. One of their guards missed shot after shot. I have a hard time believing they are going very far in class 6.
I don't think they played their best game last night, some of that was the Strafford D I'm sure. Obviously Bekemeier wasn't at her best and she fouled out, but they still beat a good team. If the guard missing the shots was the Schatz girl, she'll be fine in the long run. She shot it great last season. I only caught bits and pieces of the game on the Repmo youtube channel so idk who you speak of.
There's no real standout powerhouse in SWMO this season, honestly. There's a lot of good teams but no dominant ones, and I think the best teams are a notch below what they have been in the past - Kickapoo, Nixa, Strafford, Skyline, etc. I still think Repmo is a leg up from those other teams but we'll see... Not having Finley like I thought they did definitely hurts them, but they still have the best player in the area and one of the best in the state, and Nambara is a great point guard, kind of like a Muggsy Bogues out there in that you can't steal the ball from her or contain her when she's dribbling bc she's too quick and fast and her handles are top notch. That's big for a high school girls team.

I think Republic is good but not great. I just thought they would be really good this year. Strafford played good D but so will any good class 6 team they play in the playoffs. Strafford is undersized and that's where republic separated themselves from them last night.
