Renewed outrage in (Holder) Hardy beating that happened 16 mos ago

Why do available pictures renew what we know has been true for 16 mos? The court documents clearly state what happened.

The Greg Hardy domestic violence incident. The beating happened 16mos ago, but like Ray Rice, once the pictures (not a video) became public the media (public) is calling for a permanent suspension of Greg Hardy. Chris Berman has said " Cowboys, be America's team and suspend Greg Hardy. Evidently the statement given by the judge that ruled on this crime is enough to fry this kid. Why now, only after pictures are made public does the media call for stronger measures against Greg Hardy?
All of my information, could be misinformation, for I only know what I've read, viewed and heard on TV and other news sources.
